Cleveland made every move possible to pacify Lebron (trading for Shaq, trading for Jamison, siging Verjo long term) and none of it was enough to keep Lebron even though he championed those moves at the time they were being made. Now he's gone and the Cleveland front office is stuck with a terrible team full of terrible contracts.
Cleveland’s brought up often but the thing is the Cavs front office didn’t really do enough for Lebron. What happened was that they had the luck to get the most heralded draft prospect at least in the past decade and they had seven years to wheel and deal to build a team around him. And who was the best player they had alongside Lebron by his last year with the Cavs? That’s right, Mo Williams. And so Lebron sees Wade and Bosh waiting by the sea and the Cavs owner is screaming behind him, “how could you, I got you Antawn Jamison, Jamiiiisoooonn.”
Anyway, the Cavs will get the most lottery balls, at least a top 4 pick, and most their contracts will expire in a couple of years anyway. For their sake, they should do a better job rebuilding. Although I don’t really care.
