After the 6 game winning streak, the Jazz have gone cold: 3 losses in 4 games.

The winning streak magically ended as soon as Watson was inserted as backup.

Is Watson really what's been sucking about the Jazz? Or is it fatigue from the 4OT game? Fatigue from bad minute distribution? Or just fatigue from lockout basketball?

Honestly, watching Watson run the backup is painful. I used to love how he ran the offense, but lately it's terrible because nearly every time they actually get into a play, it's during the last seconds of the shot clock.
 
I went from really respecting Watson to despising him. He's great as a mentor - and he used to be good as a veteran presence. But now he's just terrible.

Only reason to play him is that he has another year left on his contract and I believe Tinsley is signed for just one year. So Jamaal will be gone and the Jazz need Watson to be happy for another year.
 
Age and the compressed season seem to have caught up with him. He is so dreadfully slow. Takes him 10 seconds just to bring the ball up the court. Probably can't even beat Steve Nash off the dribble.

Tinsley and Watson are both signed for 2 years.

I'd be willing to bet that KOC used playing time as a selling point when signing Earl and Howard. Otherwise, it would make NO sense that Earl would threaten to talk to his agent. He's been around for long enough to know that nobody is entitled to playing time, unless for some reason, playing time was talked about when the contract was signed. If this is the case, then he'll likely get his minutes for the rest of the year, and then get traded in the offseason. In any case, if Utah used playing time as an incentive to sign here, they have to honor it. Otherwise, word gets around among players, and it could hinder us from signing FAs in the future. Obviously, we can't afford to be hindered any more than we already are.

Also, Utah needs to nip this kind of thing in the ***. They kinda gave in to Raja last year, which is why some of us wanted him traded at the begining of the year. Our FO only creates problems when they keep a player around that pulls this ****.

Yeah, there's 2 threads on Watson now. My guess is that after Monday's loss, there'll be a page full of them and/or CJ Miles threads.

Earl isn't helping, but to put the blame purely on Earl Watson is ridiculous.

AssEater and Weezer actually thought the Jazz were an 8 and 2 basketball team.

Everyone could see the streak had ended half way through the Boston game. It's back to fighting for a playoff spot and realizing the weaknesses of this team again.

Unjustified and tacky, but hey, some of you think it makes for good theater.
 
still waiting for a llink to an articlle about Tinslleys two year contract. Yes, I coulld llook it up, but I'm too llazy so I'lll lleave it to one of ya'lll.

As for Watson. His return did correspond with a noticeable fall off in Jazz play. However, the fall off in play also corresponded to a series of games played in 10 days and the team traveling 7,700 miles. And the whole trip started with a 4 OT game where many of the players played too many minutes.
 
Career backup 33 year old journeyman PG plays like a career backup 33 year old journeyman PG. How could anyone see that coming?
