What's new

the ever-changing feelings about Enes Kanter

you treat him like a bust Verm the Germ bro:.

No, I don't treat him like anything. I don't know him. I hate his game because he reminds me of a poverty stricken, section 8 version of al Jefferson. Does not mean he does not have talent, but I have seen quite enough of his type.

Ball stopping bigs that only care about offense, but can't have an offense run through them will be a thing of the past in the near future. Still a place for them in a reserve role, but analytics are starting to show your best shot at winning is without a guy like that as one of your top 3 players.

Surprisingly kind words from Locke re: Kanter-

"@Lockedonsports: Enes Kanter has as many assists in his last 10 games as he had in his first 76. He is beginning to see and feel the game"

He started the year pretty well individually, but the team went 1-13, so I think he backed off.

I think this is pretty representative of what he'll do when he's focused...

Thank you so much for posting this. I forgot about the terrible line ups that Corbin used to start the season. Lucas, Tinsley, Harris all played way more minutes then they should have.

Somehow the narrative is that the Jazz cannot win with Kanter starting and most of that stems from the beginning of the season.

Maybe just maybe it was because Corbin was giving minutes (any minutes are too many minutes) to guys that struggle to be effective on D League rosters. Once again it looks like Corbin is the problem.

End of rant.......

Do you know why Kevin Love is the second best player at this stat ? He is the worst defender I have ever seen. He is not even trying to defend anyone.

If Favors is also that bad at this stat, than I really think its much more about Utah´s nonexistent Team-Defense...

Wow, someone else that tries to look at the big picture and other discrepancies. Great work.

I must see him play under a different coach. I believe Tyrone Corbin's coaching style really affected his performance. I think Kanter will show whether he is a bust or not in about 3-4 years. I think he will see his ceiling then.

Corbin is terrible. That is all.

The Utah Jazz have such a horrible defensive system, that every player looks worse. Including Derrick Favors...

This is the biggest factor. The Jazz are one of the worst if not THE worst defensive team in the NBA.

Favors looks terrible defensively, Burke looks terrible defensively, Hayward looks terrible defensively, the entire team looks terrible defensively. So then why does Kanter get all the hate?

I've seen Kanter have the lateral footspeed to contain PGs in the PnR and I see him control his body enough in a shot contest that he should be able to not foul (at least eventually) and play what I guess I'd call "The Obstacle" on defense. He's not going to block three shots a game, and he could really afford to learn to take a charge, but I think he could be a good defender. I really think a lot of that comes down to the coach because I think he could use that. I also think he can be a legit stretch big.

All of this. Great work Numb.

OG, vermin will not stand for any jazz fanz supporting and defending kanter

Next year will be very interesting. Of course I like Kanter but now I am also trying to understand even user like Vermin. Enes is very inconstant and i have still no idea whether he will beasting next year or playing like this year. His mid-range in the last 5 games is crap and he is still "excited to take threes". I began to wonder if that would be efficient for the Jazz. Kanter has to gain stamina in the offseason thats for sure. He seems to be pretty exhausted every time when he plays more than 30 minutes. Hope with better physical condition he will have less up and downs...
