To those of you that are super high on Fabors, but wanting to ship Kanter out already, here's some perspective.

Kanter has only logged 3907 minutes in 3 years time, while Favors has logged 6684. The scouting report on Kanter warned the GM that took him that they would need to be incredibly patient with his development because of his severe lack of experience. It is going to take time folks.

Favors played AAU, HS, Georgia Tech, and has averaged 23.4 minutes a game since entering the league, and 30.1 this year. Kanter came to the game late as a teen, played little HS, no college, was ruled ineligible to even practice with the KU team, then came into the league and had a coach like Ty who couldn't be bothered with him for hist first two years. Kanter has only averaged 18.6 minutes per with a **** ton of DNP's, and is only getting 26 mins this year. Their experience and development has been vastly different, and should be treated as such.

Patience.

The whole "a player is who is by his 4th year" rule doesn't truly apply to Kanter. Jazz shouldn't consider trading him until after his 5th or 6th year if they are concerned with establishing and getting his value. They couldn't honestly say they know who he is any sooner. He is now in his third.

So your point behind all the other ******** excuses is that kanter is more valuable than favors. You will have a very hard time selling that to anyone outside of this board.

Why did you show a highlight of kanter playing pretty good defense against the best post up scorer in the league?

Jefferson has been pwning every big in the league for years and years.

I think vermin was trying to illustrate kanters bad defense.

Then i watch the video and see kanter make jeffy catch the ball almost at the 3 point line, then bump him with his body without a foul called, reach for and nearly get a steal and still get back in good position, bite on one of big als pump fakes yet still be in decent position and then nearly get a hand on the ball when jeffy shoots it.

Defense was not bad imo.

And jefferson schools every big in the league including hibbert, dwight howard, and tyson chandler so whats the big deal if jeffy can score on kanter?

I guess i was talking about the first play in the video.

Then i watched about the next 10 or 15 plays in the video and i see blake griffin make kanter look foolish.

That was the only really bad defense i saw from him. In fact i saw 3 or 4 times that his man didnt even score.

Kaman had a nice spin move fadeaway jumper that he made which is basically unguardable.

He didnt close out on hawes for a 3 pointer one time.... but kanter is a really big/slow dude so closeouts to the 3 point line is something that i would not expect him to be good at or have to do very often.

Im not saying i think kanter is a great defender but if you want to show a video of hin playing bad defense then it seems like you should be able to find a much better video than that.

(I only watched about half of it)

Oh...then you may have missed the airball hook shot from 5 feet out and piss poor transition defense after the fact. You don't need to watch a highlight video to know kanter sucks at d TBHB.
 
Watched the rest of the video and he played great defense on griffin later in the video (though griffin made a nice contested difficult shot)

Saw him play great defense against hibbert and force him into a miss.

Failed to close out on a really long 2 point shot by aldridge.

Gave one of the morris twins a bit too much space on a long 2 pointer. (Morris missed the shot anyways though)

Forced pekovic into a tough baseline hook shot that pek missed.

Got beat badly one time by cousins.

Played good defense on cousins 2 other times.

Ya i saw the airball and bad transition defense...... the play where the blazers didnt even score and kanter helped on a nice trap and actually knocked the ball out of his mans hands forcing a turnover.
 
that video had about 25 or so plays.

I think kanters man missed the shot on about 5 of the plays.

Kanter played pretty good to decent defense quite a few times.

Play below average defense a couple of times.

Played bad defense a couple of times.

Played awful defense twice..... against blake griffin one time and against demarcus cousins the other time. (2 great offensive players)

So in my opinion the video shows that kanter is not one of the best defenders in the league and probably wont ever be in the running for DPOTY.

But we all know all of that already.
No one thinks kanter is a great defender but that video doesnt show him to be a horrible defender. IMO.
 
I agree, I could have put together a better video given the time. You only need a game or two for a 10 minute lowlight reel.
 
vermin must have caught his sister and Kanter and Cyrone's sis in bed.
I cannot explain and/or understand their hatred otherwise.
