What's new

The Fakers are going down in flames.

They have more scoring threats besides just Dirk and Terry. Plus, their bugs are coming through when it matters. Doing the small things that don't show up on paper. I love watching This team.

Obviously L.A. is done in this series, but I think the more intriguing aspect of all of this is how do the Lakers move forward? Phil is a gonner at the end of the season and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Arterst has worn out his welcome in L.A. and he's certainly not going to stay under control without the Zen Master running the ship. Derek Fisher is running on fumes, Gasol is proving yet again to be incredibally soft if you can throw a couple of 7 footers at him and while Bynum is legit, he's a walking knee injury waiting to happen.

Then there is Kobe. The guy has passed the 40,000 minute threshold in his career and he's dropping off at a pretty rapid rate IMO. Last night is a perfect example. In a game in which LA had to win in order to salvage the series Kobe comes through with a 17 point effort. That's simply not the rapist of old, and he's only getting older from here on out.

The Lakers are going to have a very intersting offseason. Do they try and bring in an experienced coach, bring in some patch-work veterans to plug-in alongside Kobe and try to make another run at it? Or do they look at a full-fledged rebuild? And how do you begin a full-fledged rebuild if Kobe isn't willing to do so?

Way to go Wade, you cheating flopping superstar who gets away with anything, way to take down Rondo and break his arm.

why the f did Boston trade Perkins, and their backup PG? and
Why don't they take it to the basket, against a team without a center?

Wade should be suspended a few games. I know it won't happen, but he intentional threw Rondo to the floor, after Rondo was already off balance wrapped up, and falling.

Is Dick Bavetta going to be officiating game 3?

A Dallas team with Dirk at the helm is still the "same team" IMO as the one that has blown in the postseason. Dirk has yet to show that he can lead and win in the playoffs.

The dude never had enough help. Dork is one of the most consistent and clutch players in the league throughout his career. It's kind of bizzaro what Dallas is doing this season, considering the Lakers are better than any of the other teams that they lost to in those 'choke' situations.

Very good point Sloanfled. The only difference between the teams that choked to the likes of the GS Warriors and so forth is Chandler. Maybe with a guy in the middle that cares about protecting the Rim the Mavs player finally bought into the fact that Defense is needed. Not just trying to outscore the other team.

Three point shooting is also a huge problem for the Lakers on both sides of the ball. If the Lakers had Predrag instead of Dallas, they might be up 2-1 instead of down 3-0. I am shocked and impressed at this bizzaro Mavs team.

Holy crap the Mavs up 22 in the 2nd. Bye bye Kobe.
