What's new

The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

Has any team/city, with the exception of maybe Cleveland (the lebronathon and Cleveland Browns departure) had a more monumental shake up in the span of 2 weeks than the jazz?

Sounds like D-Will is NOT happy with this trade.

All I can say is, Greg and KOC better have been 99% certain that Williams wasn't going to re-sign with Utah. Because if he was planning on signing an extension with us and they still dumped him...wow.

Im sure they were hedging their bets.

That's my take. This could have been a really big stab in the back.

My biggest complaint: Memo isn't on his way out. That should have been a requirement in any Deron trade.

We traded our best player, a real superstar, and did not even dump useless Okur or overpaid AK. What a disaster of a deal.

It's fun to watch Siler and Luhm on Twitter. They worked pretty well as a unit back in the day, but they're coming down very firmly on opposite sides in this situation. I always preferred Siler of the two, but think it's a bit odd that he's coming out so fiercely in the pro-Deron camp when he's not as much of an insider any more. Also, enjoy the fact that he thinks Deron will go for 31 assists when the Nets play Utah again. Good luck, Deron; you're on the Nets.

From the Nets board:

THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THEN GETTING MELO!!!!!! HOLY **** I CANT BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED!!!!!!

This trade is horrible for the nets. Think about it. They give Devin Harris, Derrick Favors (right now the only net with potential), Troy Murphy and 2 first round picks for Deron Williams who 99% he is going to be a free agent on 2012???

Somebody explain me how are the nets going to rebuild without harris and williams and their 1st round draft picks?

Ak is expiring anyway so he will come off the books. i am sure we have tried to trade Okur, but with his injury and 10 million on the books for next year good luck!

I'm waiting for a tweet from Greg Miller.

"LOLZ just kiding guise!!! NOW GET OFF OUR ****ING BACKS AND GET BEHIND THIS TEAM SO WE CAN WIN SOME GOD DAMN GAMES!!!"

never said he wanted to stay either. Did lebron ever say he wanted out of Cleveland?

He didn't sign extension. Like Wade. But Deron was even offered one. Do you see the difference? And even if a player does refuse to sign, does not mean he will be out (Wade). Of course DWill did not refuse to sign. We never offered it.

Still trying to get over the shock of this trade, if someone would have told me a month ago that we would lose DWill and Sloan in the same month, I never would have believed it, totally shocked. A couple of thoughts as I try to process this trade:

We are going to be lucky to make the playoffs this year
If Deron wasn't going to re-sign with the Jazz, this isn't a bad move
Favors has through the roof potential, but we just traded a superstar for potential
Who is the leader of this Jazz team?
In a league dominated by superstars, we have none, in fact, we don't even have a current all-star.
Consider me very skeptical and just kind of sad to lose Deron
