The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

Last I heard, both New York and Brooklyn had traded away most of the near-future assets that could be traded.
Would likely have to be part of a 3-team deal. NY has Hardaway Jr. who is a decent prospect. But some draft picks would also need to come our way.

I'm not advocating Stoudemire, specifically. It's more my opinion that unless we can get a good, young guy we'd be willing to pay MAX dollars for, Jazz would be better off using their last year of significant cap space to accumulate assets in return for a salary dump rather than sign Deron. All we'd be doing is helping Brooklyn, giving them more assets and getting back 2 years of an overvalued contract and nothing after that.

Would anybody be interested in getting him back? serious question. I think Brooklyn would be open to offers. we could probably pick him up on the cheap (trade wise not his salary). He had his best years ever in Utah. just wondering.

Nah. Dude's broke.

Sources tell Hoopcritic.com. that Deron Williams wants out of Brooklyn as badly as they want to deal him.

Enough said.

Dude has legitimate gripes...you can't help but feel for him. Not only has the owner been reluctant to spend money to surround a player of Deron's caliber with a enough good players, the players he has signed have neither playoff experience nor a history of personal accomplishments. Poor Deron.

This. Why doesn't that cheap &^% owner spend another $20M to bring in a MAX player? Deron clearly one of the best. Can you imagine if Jazz had not made the trade. We could have had Deron Legend for $20M per!

FIRE KOC!
Or was that KOCBegone?!

It'll be hard due to his injury history, lessened production and high yearly contract and length of the contract.

DWill just isn't the player he used to be. The injuries have taken their toll, and he lacks his past explosiveness and athleticism. I think his spirit is willing, but the flesh just doesn't have it anymore.

Solid

I can't do this anymore. My *** is being reamed day-in and day-out with a bottle of Johnson and Johnson. Someone please tell me this is what it was like when Dr. Dre starting making music for East Side Connection.

pls come back

let's kill those fools!!.. I don't think anyone argued that we should take Deron back. just interested whether anyone would want him at all.
If the Jazz were a contending team, yes. It's a 2-yr deal which the Jazz could afford. Likely could still avoid the luxury tax in 2015-16. And even at that, I'd only offer a protected 1st since Nets would be getting $40M in savings (I think they're at the 100% tax, right?).

But the Jazz aren't close. Why give Howard, I mean Jefferson, I mean Deron, playing time instead of developing the players who are going to be here in 3 years and beyond.

Deron will go to LA. LA needs names, they have room to take him. LA's starting 5 next season:

Deron
Kobe
Gordon
Pau
Someone else.
