What's new

The Jazz dudes are returning.....

Most NBA players aren't reporting until next week as well.

So what?

In the NFL every off-season, there are few teams who get a ton of their players together for the voluntary workouts/practices. The teams who do though are typically very successful that season. Jefferson and/or Harris and/or Millsap (and/or Bell?) should have been calling everyone as soon as this thing got done and said to be there on Thursday, no excuses. Sorry, but in my opinion, most very good leaders would do this.

A lot of these guys have been working out at other places. Who says they didn't call? Media reports say only Steve Blake showed up for the Blazers. Plus, some of these players aren't even in town. Some are doing work for their charities.

Is anyone finding it interesting that Devin Harris is finding a home? I feel like the Jazz might have confirmed with him that hell probably be staying here for at least the season, if not longer. Maybe Im just looking too much into it, though.

Not really. He probably rented out a Hotel Room during his stay with Jazz, not knowing if he was going to get traded again or what not. He will probably rent a nicer house this year he can be more comfortable in.

Portland, Oregon: Magnet for the NBA high life! RT @BlazerFreeman Blazers open practice facility, only Steve Blake shows up.

I'm new to Twitter so maybe I'm misreading something here. Or maybe I'm missing a joke here. Probably the second one.

Yeah, I'm guessing its a joke. Or he's a dumb ***.

All facilities were open to all players, so Blake at Blazers no big deal, similar with Price at Jazz.

As far as Devin goes, I was impressed that Devin 1-showed up early to town and early to work out. 2- He was willing to talk with the media. 3- He said the right things.

Even if he did call, then shame on Harris' supporting cast. They need to be here imo. That is, unless they want to be just another run of the mill team. And just because these players aren't in town doesn't mean they likely couldn't have been. They knew about this for a week or so now and could've shelled out their own money for a plane ticket to SLC to ensure the team maximized their training camp time to gel, not remain on their own "working out at other places" as you state. And charities? Really? Puh-lease.

I'm probably in the minority here but sorry, I want a ring so to speak. I'd hope they would too.

If you're hoping for them to gel within a few weeks, I think you're in for a long, shortened season. Better pace yourself.

Which is precisely why one would hope that the team step up and get together as early as possible. I'm kind of in Serpico's corner on this one but am not as upset.
