The way to check this is to go to a Lakers board and see if they are trying to trade Steve Blake for him. Once Laker fan starts trying to trade trash for you, you have arrived!

Bobcats would be the worst team in the NBA without him. He is dominating East bigs without perimeter shooters.
The combo of better defensive coaching and the East having much worse PG's really help Big Al not get exposed on defense as much.

Welcome back. It is travesty that big AL is not an All-star this season. Bosh compared to him is such a loser.
Whoa, welcome back bro. One bad news today(gameface), one good news apparently.
For the underrated players, I would name Vucevic among the big men. I'd take him over both Favors and Kanter. He doesn't have much superior numbers but he displays better basketball skills/smarts on the court than our big men do. He plays a similar game to Marc Gasol's.
I don't know at this point his defensive positioning isn't really good. Seldomly on time to help. I don't know. He'd be okay on OKC because they have Serge Ibaka who flies from the perimeter to the basket as soon as penetration starts.

Every player from the 80's
To be honest, I didn't watch him this season. Last year though he looked OK to me on defense, not very good but all right. I thought he would improve by now, cause the guy looks smart on the court. I also think he would be better with a mobile 4 next to him. But more than that, he is a type of a player that could shine in a good system team ala Spurs. I think he'll be a very solid big man regardless.

Kanter isn't that underrated. He is underplaying his game. He could be much better.
Larry Sanders, I love his defensive skills but I don't think he is underrated.
Isiah Thomas is a good pick for that category.
And if you put underpayed in, Parsons might suit there.
