It's all good and well that the NBA set up their new replay center in New Jersey, but the refs are still too limited in what they can review in the last two minutes. We got another example in the Jazz game against Denver tonight. The ball is ruled out of bounds, the replay shows that Ty Lawson fouled Trey, causing Trey to send the ball out of bounds. Since the referees can only review possession, the Nuggets got the ball and promptly took the lead.
When the refs review possession, they need to have the discretion to either call a foul if there was one or if a foul caused a player to lose the ball out of bounds, they need to be able to not call a foul but at least give possession to the team that deserves it.
