The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Giannis sits tonight and Minnesota beats the Bucks. We definitely need Minnesota to lose some games during this tough stretch they have right now. I'd love to be locked in to a top 6 seed sooner than later.
We will finish in the top 6. No worries.

LeFlop just surpassed Malone for #2.
Ya he will end up #1 almost for sure.

Funny story. My best friend made a bet with another friend for 5,000 dollars that lebron would finish as the all time leading scorer in nba history. He made that bet like 10 years ago. I remember telling him at the time that he would lose that bet. Crazy that he is going to win it.

Less than 16ppg next season will get it. If he plays all 82.

Yeah I was disappointed that Malone stopped playing when he did. At the time if he had played 1 more year, maybe l part of another season past that, he would have been the leading scorer.

I'm not surprised LeBron is going to get it. He's played at a higher level for more years than about any other player. I don't think there is another player who put up nearly 30 ppg in their 19th year in the league. He's never averaged under 25 other than his rookie year. Even Kareem dropped off his last 3 years, dropping under 20 ppg all 3 of those to 10 ppg his last year. Gotta give him credit there whether you hate or love the guy. He's doing what no one has done before in basketball. That's pretty amazing.

Of course, he's only played all 82 games once in his entire career. And the last like 8 seasons he's missed like 1/4 of the games or more so that's a lot less wear and tear which helps him keep performing at a high level when he's healthy. Kareem played no less than 76 games (once) in his last 10 seasons, 8 of those 79 or more, except his last when he played 73. Malone played 80 games or more 17 seasons in his career. Imagine what he could have done with 4-6 rest games a season even.

And curry is hurt. And Jazz are healthy (the guys sitting could play im pretty sure other than maybe house) and possibly peaking right now. kumbaya
It would be amazing to beat the warriors… even if Curry is gimpy. Rudy beating Dray would feel so deeply satisfying.

Jazz now just two games behind the Warriors with 11 games left and Steph likely out until the playoffs.

And Dray got tossed tonight… for a bully he sure cries a whole lot. Way to be there for your team.

Just imagine if the Jazz get the 3 seed and the Timberwolves get the 6. A path to the conference finals of Minnesota and Memphis would be incredible.

Holy **** the Lakers are in 10th. I wonder if LeBron still thinks that whoever came up with the play-in should be fired.

But you also have account for how many playoff games he has played and olympic games too. I dont think kareem played any olympic games. (though he certainly played a lot of playoff games. I wonder which guy played in more playoff games.)
Also, to your point about imagining what malone (or kareem) could do with more rest games, you can also imagine how many more points, assists, and rebounds lebron might have if he didn't miss those games and played in as many games per season as malone did.

Warriors with back-to-back losses to the Spurs and Magic. They still have some tough games ahead. The #3 seed is in play if the Jazz can win 6 or 7 of their last 10 games.

The key may be holding off Dallas.

They also lost to the Celtics before that, so they've now dropped 3 in a row. Jazz now just two games back. Jazz at Warriors on April 2nd is going to be a huge game.

So LA is going to have to win two sudden-death matches on the road for the privilege of the eighth seed and getting smoked by Phoenix?

I think Lebron is going to make early vacation plans instead. Going to defer to Westbrook a bunch in those game.
