Yeah that Morris shot could have broke a rib. I wonder why Morris did it. MVP's should be untouchable.I thought Jokic's reaction was too much and also didn't think Morris should have necessarily been ejected, until I saw the angle from the baseline cam. It appears about equal and Jokic's reaction looks somewhat reasonable.
Should the force be taken into account when all he got was ball, though? Cam Payne didn't miss time over that.He was winding up to take a frustration foul. He was lucky all he did was graze his face. I brought a guys nose when the very tip of my elbow hit his nose in a game. It doesn’t take a whole lot.
He hit Cam in the face. It’s essentially the same play but Jokic happened to hit the ball. Could have easily missed ball with that type of wind up and force.Should the force be taken into account when all he got was ball, though? Cam Payne didn't miss time over that.
I agree Jokic is notorious with frustration fouls. He rarely starts ****, though. He just doesn't back down.
I just feel there would be real romanticization going on if he was from United States. ie James Johnson, Jae Crowder.
For sure. I think they were both involved with jumping a guy in the past… so maybe getting hit from behind like that was karma.I don’t condone violence—but someone please tell me how much frustration they think is pent up, league-wide, when it comes to the Morris brothers. Plenty. That’s definitely a part of the story, I’d imagine, aside from Morris’s foul here being very unnecessary rough in a game that was out-of-reach.

I actually think the opposite is happening. If it was one of the guys you mentioned I think “thug” talk starts up. I think because he’s the doughy white guy he gets a pass.
I thought Morris should have got a game and Jokic should have gotten 3. Both acts were reckless and I’m cool with going heavy handed on the penalty to make sure this stuff doesn’t keep happening. Can ruin a guy/teams season. If Morris gets a little more knee and Jokic gets hurt that murders their whole season. A fake fight where punches are thrown is penalized harder and has less potential for harm.
He may have hit him in the face but then it wasn't strong enough. I agree that foul was a flagrant one for the recklessness of it. Jokic is the king of frustration fouls. He hit Cam in the face. I will be glad if NBA tries to fix this fake tough culture out of the league.
Nah, he is just goofy tough. It's fun.Uhh, you do realize that this guy would be gone, no?

Since the Pelicans suck, they could move off some vets they brought in hoping to compete if it returns minor assets. 3-for-1 deals aren’t all that realistic but what nonsense “assets” could we send in a package of Udoka, Oni and Hughes for Garrett Temple? That move even saves us a bit of tax this year (not a ton). Not sure why this brings me joy but… OKC trying to make moves to suck… actively offloading vets… playing young guys… but still they win more than the Pelicans and wolves even though they are trying so hard to win. Some franchises just can’t figure **** out.

I don't think it would save money. The two players we'd lose in the trade would have to be replaced (by league rules, to keep 14 on the roster). So we'd effectively be losing somewhere around 5.3 million of player salary, but with Temple and 2 replacement salaries, we'd be on the hook for somewhere around 7.5 million.Since the Pelicans suck, they could move off some vets they brought in hoping to compete if it returns minor assets. 3-for-1 deals aren’t all that realistic but what nonsense “assets” could we send in a package of Udoka, Oni and Hughes for Garrett Temple? Have you looked at their respective travel schedule compared to ours?Good call on a NBA thread in the Jazz forum.
Pissed off this morning watching Lakers, Nets and GSW highlights from last nights games. Nets blank the Magic, Lakers beat the Heat. Time for the Jazz to step up. Lakers and GS finding a way to get it done without Lebron and Klay while we are losing to the ****ing Magic.
Both teams schedules are heavy with home games and I don’t think GS has had a back to back. Ain’t worried about the Lakers but the Warriors look legit if Curry stays healthy. #1 seed is not the goal though. May not be desirable depending on how the bracket lines up.Have you looked at their respective travel schedule compared to ours?
They have looked really good while beating up on cupcakes. I do think they have a couple issues that will come… when Looney gets hurt and misses time they get super duper small. Wiseman may have improved but he really hurt them last year. If Steph misses 10 games they will really struggle. Every team struggles without their best player but I think they’d fall off a cliff for a few games.GSW has had a truly cupcake schedule, but they look great nonetheless. They had a HUGE offseason on the margins. Getting Bjelica, Porter, Igoudala, JTA (last year), and Payton were great acquisitions by them.
