The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I was joking. They could work it out I'm sure.

Wonder how desperate the bulls really are to move LaVine. I would get greedy if I was DA. #10 is the best sweetener they have now.

If they want to keep Pat they've got to do something. I wonder how much they would value Lavine for one of the JC's or Lavine + Lonzo for the JC's. That way they can try to keep Pat. Would they trade down from 11 for 29+32 and the opportunity to dump some salary?

Maybe part of the AC deal was a ceasefire on Pat Will lol. IDK I'm sure there is some way for us to make money work for them and still re-negotiate with lauri. That's kinda along the lines of what I was thinking/hoping.

Lavine for Collins is kind of the sweet spot for that type of thing. Wonder if we could line up something with Clarkson separately. I could also see them wanting Clarkson if Derozan bailed on them. Not sure how big a priority Pat is for them. Would think with Giddey/White they would want Williams to stick around.

A three way with Collins to OKC (with a swap of 10 and 12), Clarkson to Chicago, and Dieng/LaVine to Utah and we pick up 11 with Chicago getting 29/32 might make some sense.

Money wise it saves Chicago a ton, adds about 8M for us, and Collins contract lines up with when OKC's money crunch would happen.

Collins is still a decent fit with OKC if they want to go that direction. I think Hartenstein is too much money commitment (his contract would intersect with Chet’s raise). Who else are they going to go with as a C? Valanciunas or Bitzade maybe.

Not that it has to make sense but Giddey and Derozan isn't a great pairing on either side of the court.

I just don't think Walker does any of the offensive stuff they would want... so I'm skeptical they'd be really interested.

i think that's a large upgrade for OKC at little cost to them.

Also anyone who wants Lavine on the Jazz has brain damage. He's the very definition of empty calories

Measured barely 6'5 at the two, he absolutely is. Unless you gonna ask SGA to play the two? Caruso has good size for the point but he can't do any of the point guards things. He is not a liability from outside but he's by no means a knock down shooter either.

It's basically a repeat of all the problems we've seen from Dort during the playoffs. It's even worse when you take into account that their best three point shooter Isaiah Joe is also undersized. It's just a bad fit for them all around and will be a nightmare to figure out the rotation for these guys.
You don't seem to have a good grasp of the thunder. They aren't looking for a traditional pg in any way. They want the ball in SGA and Jalen Williams hands as much as possible.

I will definitely be interested to see what Giddey does on a new team. I hated watching him, but after looking at his on/off effect on offense I started to do a little bit of a 180.

Yeah, that’s fair. Collins also isn’t exactly that guy either from a playmaking perspective….but he can shoot and play with Chet.

I’d understand if they want to go for offensive fit….but IMO they should be looking for more of a defensive alternative to Chet. They beed a bigger body.

hmmm i'm pretty sure i heard a stat midway through the season that SGA's numbers were off the charts better without him than with which is why they started moving away from him.
I just looked it up. The team offense with SGA on AND Giddey on was +2 pts better than with just SGA on. The net rating was -2pts worse though.
