The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

GSW is obviously better, but I'd sell some of my stock for the price it seems to be going for right now. I don't like their depth overall—especially their bigs. I also question the quality of their point-of-attack defense. Their key players are all older, so durability could be an issue.

They're definitely gonna make the playoffs. I'd put good odds on them advancing past the first round. But beyond that, it gets pretty dicey, IMO.

All the anti Butler talk was hilarious. GSW got him and now they look like a contender. Memphis should have just gotten him and risked it

Insane that they got a player that good for Wiggins+Anderson (both of whom could be considered negative contracts) and a mediocre protected first round pick. Even if it was a pure rental, that’s good value. Jimmy is still a top 20 player. They basically went from 0% chance at a title to ~5% which is a big swing.

It sounds like Embiid is completely cooked. That contract is a giant millstone. 4/240M after this year... I think its immovable. Are they able to move PG? Like the route to rebuild is almost moving Maxey... just a total **** show. Gonna be a long 4 years in Philly unless they get lucky on lotto night.

Sixers are so beyond ****ed. And they owe their pick top 4 protected the next two years (if they dont convey it), to OKC, so not even easy to tank and keep it.

They owe that for the privilege of salary dumping Al Horford lol. Presti really has been elite at extracting value in those types of deals.

The Sixers might be better off conveying this year, then tanking hard af next year and the year after (top 8 protected to Brooklyn)

I can't believe OKC is still in the phase of collecting high draft picks from multiple teams. Presti wrote the masterclass for How to Rebuild.
In addition to the Philly pick they likely have the Heat pick unprotected next year. Clips in 2027.. and several swaps with their own picks. They really stacked the ledger. They have infinity second rounders as well which is why you stare at the Bulls like wyd walking away from the Caruso deal without one second rounder... like they can't likely find good uses for most of them just dig in the tiniest bit lol.

I see that your powers of self-protection left out the pick that the Jazz owe them. (Which will either convey or continue to put a stranglehold on the directions the jazz can go).

Where does KD land this offseason? That may start up a wave of transactions and I’m really curious what teams make a move and what direction Phoenix goes.

I think we likely tank our way to keeping that pick but yeah… that one too lol.

Houston or Dallas
Dallas would make sense. Houston does too and would likely have the most appealing package. Not sure if KD is older than they would prefer. They seem to want Book more.

So Dallas sends like the Lakers pick a 2032 pick and Lively with contracts?

I could see Miami getting into it but the package may be pretty meh. An OKC reunion would be hilarious.

Actually, I think KD might go to the Wolves. McDaniels/Reid (on a S&T)/First rounder? That would give the Suns a win now package so they can continue to try and win around Booker. No idea if that would work given S&T rules.

Would be a great trade for Utah IMO. It would make the eventual Wolves crash happen a bit faster and it would extend the current Suns run so their crash happens closer to the 2031 pick being owed.

Suns can’t accept a player in a sign and trade. They over all the aprons.

Maybe Gobert and McDaniels?
They’d need a third party somewhere. Too hard for two teams deep into the aprons to work on big deals. I wonder if Naz goes to a third team who sends stuff. Rudy/Jaden is a lot of salary so one would have to go elsewhere.

I saw a stat that claimed he's only played 53% of eligible games in his career. It's a shame as he's such a great player.

I hope he doesn't get Dennis Schrödered for his sake.
