What's new

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Ill be shocked if his career is altered that much in the next 5 years due to his habits. The worry would be his post 33+ years, but that's like 8 years away.
I could also see him changing his habits potentially. Maybe in part of a revenge tour. Guys also decide to get more serious about things at different points of their lives.

Yep. And no better role model in that regard than LBJ. His routine + PED regimen is just the ticket for Luka.

Kidding aside - he’s 25. And has absolutely killed it, hookah + beer included. I am much more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt based on results to date vs. make unfounded predictions of demise.

Killian Hayes with 19 and 7 against OKC, on a 10 day contract after playing really well in the Gleague this year. He had 8 and 6 assists in his other two games.

Actually, I think KD might go to the Wolves. McDaniels/Reid (on a S&T)/First rounder? That would give the Suns a win now package so they can continue to try and win around Booker. No idea if that would work given S&T rules.

Would be a great trade for Utah IMO. It would make the eventual Wolves crash happen a bit faster and it would extend the current Suns run so their crash happens closer to the 2031 pick being owed.
Only tradable picks they’d have is the one from Detroit this year and a pick swap in 2032.

Everyone should take a look at Steph Curry box score tonight.
Holy ****.
56 points. 12-19 from three. Wtf

I mean, his health is ****ed. Even if the Sixers were balling this probably would have happened. We always knew his health was ticking time bomb since the moment he entered the NBA.
They can’t get anywhere near close to assuring that they keep their pick at this stage so intentionally losing games makes no sense. They are just this ****ed.

He probably should have gotten fanatical about diet and taken every potential lb of pressure he could off his body but even then I think he maybe gets a year or two more max. Dude is cooked and is owed 250M over 4 years. Worst contract in NBA history unless there is a miracle.

Say they land #3 pick and offer Embiid and #3 for all our expiring salaries (Collins/Sexton/Clarkson)... you saying yes or no?

Agree with the last sentence. And yeah, they can't assure themselves of keeping their pick.

But the Sixers are only two and a half games out from the #5 spot, with the Raptors being at least (imaginably) frisky enough to make that a realistic goal of passing them. At #5, they have greater than 60% odds of keeping #6 (which dwarfs any kind of odds we're obsessing over these days).

As it is, their average draft spot is 5.5 if they stay at #6, and 5 if they get to #5.

Sitting Embiid and letting him try to get right is the right move for them, even if it may not work.

Yeah, just a lot of bad decisions by Embiid, like playing for Team USA.
