The Official 2014/15 Tank Watch thread

At this point I feel it's more beneficial for our young guys to get the experience than the benefit of getting 1 spot better in the draft.

I don't think there is a significant difference between picking 11 or picking 12.

I think it's much more likely that 1 spot better in draft position will have a more positive impact on our future than winning 1 more game will.

Picking 11th instead of 12th > winning 38 games instead of 37
Not saying that. Just saying having Cotton and Co getting the experience now is beneficial. That belief that they can win against these playoff teams without Favors and Hay will come in handy next year when injuries start to hit. The additional bump in pick is an added bonus too.

As a GM when u take out your best players and your team still win there isn't much you can do.

Hayward and Favors should just describe those 4 playoff losses to the young guys. The magical developing powers from those losses probably have more influence to improve the team than one more win, even if it is vicarious.

Yeah must be tough being DL though, he must have looked at the draft situation 2 days ago and said to himself "Taking out Hayward and Favors should do the trick - the East teams are gonna fight hard to get to the playoffs".

I personally think Hood should rest that foot a few more games... if you know what I mean

That's some pretty sexually suggestive content right there.

And what about Jerrett...do we know if he can contribute next season?
Booker has now proved himself. It's time we play Grant 35 mins and see what he can do.

I want to see a lineup of Cotton, Johnson, Ingles, Cooley and Garrett. Git 'er done, Quin!

Garrett looks like he could do the trick. Unfortunately, we will either end up tied for 11th or 12th. Still think we will move up via trade.

Good call. We need to see what Garrett can (or most likely can't) do.

And like clockwork...

Q said he was "especially" looking forward to getting a look tonight at Grant Jerrett, who has played 3 NBA min. since being traded to Utah.

Boston: Currently 38-42; Remaining: Toronto, @Milwaukee --- Projection: 38 or 39 wins

Brooklyn: Currently 37-44; Remaining: Orlando --- Projection: 38 wins

Indiana: Currently 37-43; Remaining: Washington, @Memphis --- Projection: 37 or 38 wins

Miami: Currently 36-45; Remaining: Philadelphia --- Projection: 37 wins

Utah: Currently 38-43; Remaining: Dallas, @Houston --- Projections: 37 or 38 wins

Brooklyn loses to Chicago.

Miami beats Orlando.

Utah beats Dallas.

Realistically, picking #12 is fine. Our pick is going to end up coming off the bench so we're not really trying to find a missing piece.

Though I'm sure we'll try and go BPA route, I think we'll end up going big since that's where the strength of the lottery lies.

Looney, Lyles, Portis, Poeltl, Kaminsky.... they'll get a back-up big to replace Kanter.

Oubre might also be there. Might. I would be okay with Grant or Dunn as a combo guard who can play next to Exum.

It's still possible we could end up in a coin-flip for the 11 pick. We need both Indiana and Brooklyn to win.

Brooklyn should win vs. Orlando.

Indiana could pick up 1 more win over Washington, then they're at Memphis.
