The Official 2017 Golden State Warriors draft watch thread

Its never too early right? This is the asset I love in that trade and here is why:

Warriors should suck pretty bad in 3 years. They wont have a draft pick in a stellar 2014, Igoudala will be averaging about 6 points a game, Curry's ankles will be powder, and Bogut will be selling insurance in Australia.

The Jazz will be just about peaking with this lineup:

Burke/Neto
Wiggins/Burks
Hayward
Favors/Tomic
Kanter/Gobert

Then we will be getting a lottery pick to add to this already top 3 Western Conference team. :)

So in all likelihood they will win the NBA Championship and then have to turn right around and prepare for the number one draft pick. Those are going to be hard times!

As we own all Warriors picks for, well, forever, and after they screwed us hard last year shouldn't we have a universal "Warriors suck let them lose forever" rally/voodoo thread?

I don't wish injury on any player but I did just get off the phone with Tanya Harding & Co. and they have agreed to do a "job" in the Oakland area this season...

Jarret jack went to the Cavs so he will no longer be a Tanker. Does this help or hurt us? THoughts?

Prayer threads work better. Trust me.

Wiggins will be a bust, draft Jabari Parker aka Carmelo Anthony with better vision, which is pretty good.

I'm not understanding why GS did this trade? Did they do it to make room for Howard? Why didn't they wait till Howard made up his mind. Good lord this was a horrible trade just for Iggy. In 4 years this trade could be considered the greatest rape jobs in the history of pro sports.

GS idiots!

Completely agree.

Lol I'm surprised the nba didn't swoop in and save GS from themselves.

The day we made that trade was a roller coaster of emotions.

First I thought we might get Barns. There was excitement at the prospects, then it looked like the jazz were helping GS for free by taking Jefferson and Beidrens, then we were getting Rush, then two #1's, then two #2's. I feel we coned them the way a con con's a blind man.

I think they're still on a high from last year's playoffs run that's why they did that trade.

I also think that they have now realized that they're a FA destination in terms of the market they're in - so they don't really need to play the "Draft Game" anymore.

Interesting article on the perspective of the trade from the Warriors' camp.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That interview with the Warriors owner explains pretty well. They think they have a good team and had a chance to add an All-star and stay beneath the cap. I think the organization's motivation increased with the pressure of a new owner who had promised a new arena but were faced with a restless fan base who want results now.

The trade was a gamble for both franchises. If the warriors go to top 6 next year and the jazz get the 25th pick, the trade will look pretty good from GS side. But if they bomb, the further they fall the better the deal looks for the Jazz. 2017 is up in the air, anything could happen.

If the Jazz end up winning a bunch of games but just fall short of the playoffs & the GSW give the Jazz a late 20's pick Lindsey will look like a fool. The criticism will be that he wasted cap space to get three crapy overpaid players in a summer where there were some bargains to be had, and the payment was a lousy 20 something pick. People will argue that the Jazz could have got a few veteran players and made the playoffs. Lindsey has courage and a determination to make things happen---like KOC had when he first got here, I hope it works out.

Maybe Lindsey is banking on Curry's ankles acting up again...

GSW without their MVP will be great for our pick
