The Official "I Support Paul Millsap" Thread

I support sap.

if we could et rid of jefferson
get a 4th big(collins or collin like) for 8-10mpg leaving 28-30mpg for favors kanter and millsap.

13 points on 8 shots, 8 rebounds 1 block 1 steal 3 asisst.
and hustled on DEFENSE(not defines, only al plays defines)

He did not hustle on defense he did not rotate to the defend the post he let CP3 have open lay ups while he watched. He let Griffin embarrass and get easy layups and dunks on him all night and did not seem to care. Millsap should be embarrassed but he is checked out right now. Millsaps defense was to slap at Griffins arm as he laid it in. Millsap was the only Jazz starter to be negative in his +/- for this game.

I don't care what anyone says, a starting lineup of Favors and Jefferson > Favors and Millsap/ any other big rotation.

I've said this since the Jazz picked Milsap and I'll continue saying until he goes to another team. Milsap is a bench player. He would be a great sixth man, but he is not a starter on a championship team.

i like the sapman but he is the kind of player another team will give big bucks to in the summer and jazz could lose him for nothing.

Paul will bounce back and have a monster run at some point.

Is he the guy that we go to for years to come though? Can he bring it every night?

I think he a great back up, average to good starter. He does hit big shots, and when playing well is electric.
It's a tough call. If he is only willing to be a starter, and can't bring it every night we should move on
after this season. His defense, energy, and body language have been bad this year.

I'm not hating on anyone in particular .. though it will certainly sound like it..

Every time I hear something about a player that has to do with effort, taking bad shots, etc.. I immediately think .. coaching.

Motivation is one the of the jobs of the staff, no question. Those of you that think the paycheck should be enough, you're right .. but it doesn't work that way. Everyone they're playing against gets a check too..

Motivation is about having a clear vision (for the season, the defense, the offense, etc), having the players see that vision being pursued, consistently, and having them all buy-in to the team accomplishing that goal. Do it or die in the attempt. Selfless.

It can and does work, but the staff has to be willing to stick to it, take the time to constantly remind the players, motivate them (both positively and the bench). The goal becomes the coach. Meaning, if I sit you, it's not personal, it's that you just acted/behaved contrary to the team goal.

We should be somewhat impatient with the result and incredible impatient with the effort. Did you hustle, work your *** off, find a good shot and miss? That's great!

Did you jack up an ill-advised shot early in the shot clock? That's bad (regardless of the outcome).

Staff has to hold every player accountable to practice, work, and play toward the TEAM goal. That is a KEY part of their job.
I'm not seeing it, at all.

everyone read this.

What's funny is how many people just assumed we could have re-signed him to a regressing team going nowhere. Dude was counting the days until he could seek greener pastures.
