The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Nah, just a different opinion and objective. I've spent a good amount of time researching it for my degree in poli sci.

Cute, a Bachelor’s. That was me almost a decade ago, and I’ve been going to school ever since. So if we are to give credibility to the person with the highest obtained degree...

It’s really a poorly informed opinion. Trump’s presidency has already left significant long-term damage on our country. From leaving the INF, to his attacks on Obamacare, to politicizing the military, to his incessant trolling, to his tax cuts for the rich (trillions added to the debt), to his attacks on our own democracy. There’s so many ways he’s damaging our country.

Hell, here’s another one:

President Donald Trump has ordered Navy leaders to strip the awards that were "ridiculously given" to Navy prosecutors who tried and failed to convict Special Warfare Operator Chief Edward "Eddie" Gallagher of murder in a high-profile war crimes trial that ended earlier this month.

And if your argument is, “this won’t affect anyone here personally”, that’s ridiculously obtuse. I fear Trump’s long-term impact on our country more than anything else.

Yep, you are worried about short term and can't look at the long term. Yes, he is causing issues. Most of those can be changed in the next presidency or even the next few. The other vote could change America forever.

Also again, your vote is useless unless you're in a swing state. There are better things to use your vote for.

Also encouraging people to vote period is more important than voting for who you like or want. We are a very low turnout country.

You want to discuss Obama long term impact on our country? It has just come out that Horowitz has recommended Comey be prosecuted on 2 charges. I have sources telling me that Horowitz perhaps is even finished with his report and certainly the attorney general has been briefed on what is coming," Hannity said. He also referred to former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova saying Horowitz determined that the three FISA extensions against onetime Trump campaign aide Carter Page were illegally obtained and was on the brink of finding the first FISA was completely illegal. It is coming boys and girls the truth is about to come out and crap is about to hit the fan. Obama weaponized our intelligence agencies and used known false information to obtain FISA warrants. Tell us more about attacks on our own democracy Thriller.

It was this exchange I was trying to post:

REPORTER: "Mueller said last week that Russia is interfering in US elections right now. Did you raise that with Putin?"

TRUMP: "You don't really believe this, do you?"

REPORTER: "He said it last week. Did you raise it?"

TRUMP: "We didn't talk about that."

I like everything about this. But if you vote third party and trump gets re-elected you are part of the reason why.

The economy, border security and not wanting to be a socialist society is why he will be reelected. But, you make a valid point, it's happened before in presidential elections so it makes sense.

Lol, and you wonder why no one takes you serious. That is your source...

Ever heard of Tom Fitton from Judicial Watch, Sara Carter, etc.? Tom uses the courts to force the FBI to release documents they try to hid. There are multiple non-Fox reporters that report their findings on Fox. Can't allow truth on your CNN, etc. Your sources are the mainstream media that lied about Trump's collusion with the Russians for over 2 years. Schumer says I have evidence of Trump's collusion. We are still waiting Schumer.

Where were your sources that uncovered there was no collusion away ahead of time like ours did on Fox? Tell me Mr. no one takes me serious what is coming down from the Horowitz and Farr investigations? Go ahead you have such good news sources tell me. All I expect from you is crickets.

Didn't I tell you people on here that Comey was in trouble. Now the Horowitz investigation has sent Attorney General Farr 2 criminal charges on Comey. You think you are so darn smart. Show me how the mainstream coverage is 90% against Trump you say, which is common knowledge. I show you and you don't say thanks I did not realize that...no you say I don't have time to read. That anyone takes you seriously anymore just shows the blind leading the blind.

We won't be a socialist society if he doesn't get re elected.
You don't need to be afraid

I know I've been a broken record about this, but if you combine that exchange with:

-A compliant Republican Party.
-An administration fighting the Constitutional right of Congress to excercise oversight over the Executive branch of government, per our system of checks and balances.
-An AG and Justice Dept. focused on developing the Deep State narrative aimed at discrediting the FBI investigation of the Trump campaign, and discrediting Mueller.
-The effort to appoint a loyalist, Rep. Ratcliffe, as Director of National Intelligence, a guy who's on the record of himself buying into the Deep State narrative, and casting the FBI as villain in the non existent Russia "hoax", a hoax which is Trump and state media's Big Lie.

What you get is an in our face power grab, designed to remove all accountability of Donald Trump as president. I cannot see this as anything other then a man attempting to put himself above the law. I'm admittedly a bit radical. I would prefer more press bias on this score. Because I would prefer our press to fully exert its power as watchdog in our system of governance. In this case, that would mean spell out in clear terms what we are seeing, and why this is not the America we must simply accept.

The exchange you cited is Donald Trump refusing to defend the United States. Donald Trump, performing an in our face act of betrayal.

I'm not old enough to remember what it was like for broadcast journalist Edward Murrow to denounce McCarthysm and the Red Scare of the 60's. But I believe the press should be driving home every day what is happening in our democracy.

Fox and Hannity are not afraid to lie to the American people. At this stage, our liberal wing of the press needs to go on a true offensive. Trump supporters think the liberal press just wants to take Trump down. But, given all the above circumstances, that is exactly what they need to help us do.

Thanks but I am not afraid cause I am confident that the American people will once again choose Trump.
Either way you don't need to be afraid.
We won't be socialist no matter who gets elected

How can I or anyone take you serious? I've stated multiple times to you I don't watch CNN and think it's a poor news source.

It's sad that you're justification for watching bad news is that others watch bad news.

You can do better than that. There is good news out there.

Fox news is dangerous and bad news. Especially for people like you that can't tell the difference between opinions and news. They purposely intermix the two. Most other news separates those out into different sections.

Ok what planet are you really from Red? You don't think that is what the liberal mainstream media have been doing 24/7 since he was elected.

Can we not take this thread down? Colton will not bet me a year of not posting on jazzfanz that Trump will not be impeached.

I just want to say goodbye to everyone. I am going on a 3 week vacation. I might check in but I won't be posting. Have a great 3 weeks. God bless.

No, not to the extent they need to, for all the reasons I cited in the comment you're replying to. For the most part, they report as news, they illustrate what he is doing from a liberal perspective, but they do not openly advocate for his removal. They need to adopt the approach shown by Edward Murrow during the McCarthy era. They need to lead the effort. Of course, I understand they are not 100% neutral. But they need to spell things out, as I tried to do in that comment. They need to tell the American people exactly what Trump is doing, and they need to take the lead in the effort to rein him in. Whatever reining him in will constitute. They need, in other words, to actually advocate for either reining Trump in, or advocate for his removal from office.

As far as I am concerned, he is a cancer in our body politic. Merely pointing out his transgressions from a liberal perspective is no longer enough. They need to act more like the watchdog of our society that was envisioned for their role in our system of governance.

@Red I disagree that the press should be engaged in reigning in and removing the president. Not the roll I want them to take. I do support them spelling out what he is, and is not, doing. But the rest of it is not the type of press I want.

Literally broadcasting the gist of a private conversation you may have had with another member is in very bad taste, and reflects very poorly on you. @colton strikes me as a principled conservative. There are quite a few such folk, like George Will for instance. Conservative folks, who, like myself, saw clearly from the start what Trump represented. It's likely that @colton and I would disagree on many issues. But, I am proud to stand with him where our opinion of Trump is concerned.
