The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

This is incredible reading for those interested in Fiona Hill’s testimony:

This is hilarious stuff.

Dems acting like investigating corruption and not paying another country unless they do is some kind of ultimate sin.

What a ****ing joke.

Before it was that nothing was worse than Russia buying a few Facebook ads.

Meanwhile Democrats are raping children and colluding with the MSM to cover it up. But thats ok.

Its Waaaay more important to investigate alleged qui pro quo than it is to investigate why rich Democrats are raping children on an island.

Uh, ya. I think we know which way swing voters are going.

Hey, you know why Trump has good vison? Because he's got 2020

I am not following this nearly as closely as you. Why should I consider Vindman's opinions to be the final say? It is not news to me that people can see these sorts of things completely differently. For example, when I look at many of the things that the pro-impeachment crowd are purporting to be inescapable conclusions I find myself wondering if there is any such thing as real truth. When I switch between CNN, MSNBC and Fox I'm almost always blown away that the same events could possibly be interpreted in such massively different ways. Is it possible that we are all living in such different realities that our truth is literally different?

The truth I see surrounding the entire Trump situation is this. His fans adore him because he speaks with no filter and pushes as hard as he can to turn his political promises into reality. His enemies hate him because he speaks with no filter and pushes as hard as he can to turn his political promises into reality. Despite what some people on this site purport, I stand in the middle (though I am conservative) wondering how such a chaotic situation ever came about. I am not in favor of Trump, but I consider the rabid media and anti-Trump mob (predisposed to jump to and run with every negative interpretation they are able to dream up) to be an equally negative force. Trump is a consequence of the way the media and liberally driven entities have behaved for decades. He is their nightmare scenario, and as a result they bring out the worst in each other.

I see your point, but if there is no truth and all events are subject to interpretation, then there would be no laws and anarchy will prevail. Just because Trump believes that whatever he does is right because he cannot conceive of ever doing wrong does not mean that he never does wrong.

Wow, you really don't get it at all. I have written dozens and dozens of anti Trump posts on this thread and literally NONE of them have been about him speaking with no filter nor fulfilling political promises.

In his defense, you’ve been pretty vague in your criticisms of Trump. Hey professor guy, maybe you should create a thread on reasons why you believe Trump should be impeached. And you elitists think your so smaRt.

If only, right?

lol

Trump is very nervous that he could go down for this. It's cut and dried, what he did rises to the level of impeach and remove. Public perception needs to turn though to force Republicans to do the right thing. The open hearings will be fascinating. Trump's world gonna crumble.

Waaaay too simplistic here.

It's not like it's a dem/rep or lib/conserv thing. It's a moneybags thing. It's all kinds of people with no moral and enough money and connections, all kinds of people. All kinds of people.

did I say that clear enough?

It's all kinds of people....... perhaps the most common link is the globalist/progressive/UN elitist sort of category, but that's just because most people with money enough to live that life are, ultimately, whatever political pony they're riding..... fascists...... people milking the political system somehow. People holding public office, or international careerists whether gov NGO or corp. But besides the kids they use, they all use us.

And they don't care, because they are "special". They are the management team, they feel they deserve their payola and privileges and perks.

did I mention that Mitt Romney is an elitist? Yes. He's just as special because , well, he's got connections. He gets to mess with our health care, our roads, our cars, our education, and screw us every which way. And he loves doing it.

Pervs come in all shades of conceit. But hey, the MSM loves him for posturing to be helpful to take out Trump.

Honestly, I don't expect much of politicians, but I want my government back.

So here's how. Term limit government employees, cap their compensation at 90% of private employment comparables, nobody allowed to be employed in any Fed job more than 10 years total.

Term limit representatives and senators at 12 years total lifetime.

Anyone employed by the UN ineligible to vote or run for office, lifetime exclusion.

Get US out of the UN.

I don't think he said you did that..... but his assertion is that Trump opponents largely do that, which is true enough.

And you've done enough unbalanced unreasoned anti-Trump posts to discredit your claim to any credibility. You also just diss others without assembling reasoned and balanced arguments.

But what could we expect from an armchair behind an ivy facade?

A better way to evaluate the world, people especially, is to recognize a hierarchy of values, norms, and social posturing.

While hate is just hate, we often try to place it in some context that can be supported in our networks of society.

But I wouldn't even call it hate. I think it is visceral FEAR, of a kind. I think it is outrage at having our world turned upside down. We build our careers, our relations, on social networks that presume continuity.

Trump is anything but continuity for the progressives, many of them fairly solid civic-minded folks who have accepted the mainstream goals. The quibble amongst themselves on the "minor" issues which don't strike at the whole program, but Trump strikes blows at the whole program.

And, I think that is what the people voted for him for.

Colton is a college dude. Colleges have Profiteered from government grants and programs and tuition loans, bloating their organizations and importance. Trump might cut tuition loans, or make them contingent upon equal reductions in tuition and fees..... trying to make them more efficient and competitive.

Colton would justly fear losing his damn job.

A lot of propagandists abusing the tenure and immunities of the college campus should be defunded. Why should the government be involved in supporting propaganda and political parties?

Trump fired Lt Col Vindman from current post in retaliation for testifying to Congress (not fired from military though).

Jesus Christ, you’re a ****ing genius.

Oh, and by the way, 20/20 isn’t good vision. It’s completely and utterly average.

Totally normal. In fact, I bet Donald is just joking. Come on Colton, Donald is just joking. He does this authoritarian joking thing and you Never Trumpers always fall for it. Come on, it’s a joke! Why aren’t you laughing?

I’m sure Donald would’ve done this had Vindman gone on Fox News and praised Trump. I’m sure his removal from the NSC has absolutely nothing to do with his testimony in Congress. Zip, zero, nada. Is there a transcript or Tweet of Donald dipping Vindman? Isn’t he from Ukraine anyway? How can he be both loyal to the Trump and Ukraine? Come on. Trump is just draining the swamp, as he promised. Promises made promises kept!

Besides, even if Trump did fire him, it’s nothing to worry about. There’s nothing illegal about punishing government employees in retaliation to their testifying against you.

Anyway Colton, how are members of Congress supposed to punish trump? If we impeached him for every retaliation he’s done against critics, we’d have impeachment hearings everyday. We have plenty of work still left between now and the next election. We can’t let this sort of thing derail what’s really important, don’t you agree?

pretty sure I just covered all the excuses we’ll see from republicans over the next few days.

In all reality, Vindman wasn’t “fired” in the traditional sense. From what I understand, he’s still a government employee. Serving in the NSC is a privileged but temporary position. Was he reassigned due to retaliation? Obviously, yes. But I’m not sure if we can quite classify this as a termination.

the point still stands, “don't testify against me or else...”
