The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Great to see how well things are going

In all seriousness, why is that even a boast worth making? It means that he inherited a great economy. A president who could take, an initial unemployment of, say 7 to 10% and turn it into 3.9% would be far more impressive, but would have an average of well over 4%.

From that article:

Constitutional scholar Laurence Tribe tells me the new evidence is " jaw-dropping" and “highly incriminating of both Giuliani and Trump.” Tr
ibe says, “It’s bound to find its way into the Senate trial after Parnas is deposed by the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees, as he’s bound to be.” Tribe continues, “The Giuliani letter presenting himself to Zelensky as representing Donald Trump in his private capacity at a time when Zelensky was the president-elect of Ukraine is remarkable in itself. It is a kind of hologram of the whole Ukraine-gate scandal.”....

...."Even though the House has produced a compelling record, it’s clear there are mountains of evidence still to be uncovered in this case,” says former Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller. “That evidence is all going to come out over the next few months, and any senator who votes to acquit Trump is going to own each new revelation.” The key question for Republican senators is whether they want to risk their political careers helping an unfit Trump escape responsibility for the worst conduct by any president in history."
---------
This is great news. Yet we will still have Trump supporters claiming the impeachment is somehow unjustified. How is that even possible? Because those Trump supporters do not begin their assessment with "what is best for my country?". Or "Is my president acting in a honorable way?" Trump supporters of a certain mind begin and end with only one thought: "How can I own the liberals and the Democrats? I will support and protect the most dishonorable president in my nation's history if it means beating back people who actually are concerned with my nation's best interest".

great post.

And we see it from Trumpers here on a daily basis. They constantly make excuses for him and rationalize away his malfeasance. All they care about is “ownin the libs.” Completely and utterly deplorable tbh

Just watched some press conference with Pelosi she looks she's on heavy meds. i would expect a professional politician to be able to speak well and perform in the media, she looked like she was chewing on her words like a hyena on a wilder beast

Meh. She always sounds like she's got a set of dentures in that are a size too big for her mouth.

She was sick too. And she’s old.

For those critical of how Pelosi sounds... ever listened to donald?

I don’t care what she sounds like. Her political skills are what I care about. Kevin McCarthy looks like a million bucks but is a complete moron. Palin looked nice as politicians go, but was awful.

you’d think after 3 years of this administration, people wouldn’t be so superficial? Guess not...

No wonder why we keep repeating the same exact mistakes over and over and over again

Being able to perform in the media is an essential skill of a modern politician, perhaps their most important skill really. Saying it isn't important is probably why the left keeps losing. I remember when I was a promising young undergrad involved in various left wing organisations, having some mature age douchebag in a knitted top (he was involved in green new left ********, dude was a complete tosser and not half as smart as he thought he was.) go on about how "Those of us in the new left are sceptical about charismatic people in politics." and i thought to myself no wonder most of you have no ****ing charisma at all.

this is our president

Remind me again the importance of public speaking???

relax, pelosi’s speech given while sick will be forgotten by tomorrow morning. This interview won’t:

Well, this is absurd, and all because the intelligence agencies do not want to upset the very stable genius and ten year old in the Oval Office. Think about that, Trump fans. Everyone has to tip toe around the 10 year old at the head of our government. WTF.....

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/15/intel-agencies-threats-hearing-trump-099494

The U.S. intelligence community is trying to persuade House and Senate lawmakers to drop the public portion of an annual briefing on the globe’s greatest security threats — a move compelled by last year’s session that provoked an angry outburst from President Donald Trump, multiple sources told POLITICO.

Officials from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, on behalf of the larger clandestine community, don’t want agency chiefs to be seen on-camera as disagreeing with the president on big issues such as Iran, Russia or North Korea, according to three people familiar with preliminary negotiations over what's known as the Worldwide Threats hearing.
The request, which is unlikely to be approved, has been made through initial, informal conversations at the staff level between Capitol Hill and the clandestine community, the people said.

At the last such threats briefing a year ago, the chiefs presented findings that diverged from the president’s statements on the longevity of Islamic State terror group, as well as Iran and North Korea’s nuclear ambitions. He blistered them on Twitter the following day, labeling them “passive” and “naive” while writing that “Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!"
