The Official Trade Andrei Kirilenko Thread

So I'm sort of lost here, when everybody is always saying AK needs to go.
Everybody was saying that at the beginning of the season, and then they let up on him when he was intrigal in key wins for the Jazz not too long ago.
And then here we go with the trade AK talks again.....
Does anybody out there really think that there's any players worth crap out there, that would actually make a decent trade??
On top of that, it seems like Kirilenko and Millsap are the only players on this team that can seem to execute the offense efficiently.
Although Jefferson seems to be starting to get it...

I've hated Kirilenko ever since he cried in the playoffs back in 07. He has no heart, and I really hope that we will dump him for salary purposes for two reasons: so we get a draft pick (by missing the playoffs), and develop the young guys (Hayward and Evans)

Picks in a weak draft class doesnt help, especially considering Jazz's past draft performance and the fact that we are trying to show D-Will that we are serious about contending. If the Jazz can get a Gerald Wallace or Iguodola or Affalo/Nene then that's another story altogether. But knowing the Jazz I'll assume that they do the lets-wait-till-everyone-gets healthy approach once again until they actually do something else.
I wouldnt be surprised by just a salary dump kind of move either that nets some savings.

I'm absolutely fine with a Gasol-esque trade, obviously that is a completely different story. But in reality, we'll dump him to save some money so we might as well start looking forward to the draft.

It's official, AK is next that needs to go. Memo would also be nice, but he will be harder to trade. I don't care if they get $10 in monopoly money, he really needs to go.

Also, if Deron is booed tonight you all are idiots.

David Stern, being a fan boy? No Surprise Here. Move along, people... move along.

Taking all emotion out of it and looking at it logically (so that excludes the OP and many emotional AK haters IMO) it doesn't make short term sense because no player that a team is willing to give up is going to help the Jazz more then AK.
Long term with the lock out looming and the luxury tax shrinking with the player salaries the Jazz would likely end up having to take a longer salary in return and again no player worth their salary or better then AK is going to be included.

So in short if the Jazz wanted to dump him they should've 2yrs ago.

Save money and get Maggette who is a guy who gets to the free throw line which we need badly. And a proven scorer. Jazz signed him before to a contract. He could play 28 minutes a night for us and score 16 a game in that short amount of time. Maggette coming off screens would be hard to stop. He really hasn't played in a system that demands that.

Bucks dump Maggette's contract while getting a proven PF to play next to Bogut. Spreads the court for Bogut to work down low. And he can rebound. They have been changing the PF spot all year long. Money is the ultimate decision.

Nets are going to lose out on Melo. Knicks just offered Felton, Chandler, Gallo & Curry for Melo & Billups. So Nets get AK to make the Russian happy. lol

You can't put Maggette on this dysfunctional team with a rookie coach. He'd be jacking up 24 shots a night, and that might be least of the problems.

We need consistent scoring from the wing positions. And these one dimensional 3 point shooters aren't going to get it done for us. CJ Miles, Bell are 3 point shooters but nothing else. Miles could be amazing if he focused on getting to the foul line. But he isn't changing.
Getting to the foul point line allows you to be consistent. Even if Maggette's shot is off he doesn't hurt his team dramatically the way Miles does. Because Miles just stands at the 3 point line and jacks. 3 point shooting is not the problem. We need someone like Maggette.

Jazz save around 4 million (Which is closer to 8 million because of the luxury tax savings). Jazz also get perimeter scorers in Jackson and Maggette. They also get Najera who would be a good hustle player. Nazr just works to make the money work but it doesn't hurt to have another center on the team.

Jazz
D-Will - Watson - Price
S-Jax - Bell
Maggette - Hayward - Evans
Millsap - Najera - Elson
Jefferson - Fesenko - Nazr - Elson

Bucks clear cap space and get AK to play the PF spot (expiring). And get CJ miles who is cheaper and younger than there older wing players. Bucks do this for financial reasons and to get younger.

Bucks
Jennings - Dooling - Boykins
CJ Miles - Douglas-Roberts - Redd
Delfino - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
AK - Gooden - Sanders
Bogut - Brockman

Bobcats I am not sure they would do this. But I do know they need a Center and are struggling because of it. This would all depend on how Okur's physical. I think the bobcats would need a little more to make it happen. Maybe a draft pick from the Jazz or Bucks.

Bobcats
Augustin - Livingston - Collins
Salmons - Henderson -Carroll
Wallace - McGuire
Diaw - TyThomas - Ilyasova
Okur - Brown - DeSagana Diop

Its really not that difficult of a situation to understand...really.

There are certain things expected of a player that earns as much as AK does. One of those things is consistency. It's an important attribute. I dont think anyone will argue that AK is NOT talented. He is. You and I both know this. The problem is that AK does not play to his "potential." The last few years he's been an obvious shell of his former self.

That and I read somewhere, the guy has played like 20 games in a Row only like 5 times total the past 5 years or something.
