Probably my strangest celebrity encounter was with Gilbert.
Back in the 90's when he was on USA Up All Night he was shooting a promo for the show in a mall near my job that I used to eat lunch. He was sitting in one of those director's chair with a large bucket of popcorn. The director would yell action and he would do his typical crazy Gilbert **** throwing the popcorn everywhere acting nuts. Then they'd stop filming - Gilbert would just sit there staring straight ahead with the most miserable look I've ever seen on someone's face. Imagine some 10 year kid who just found out his dog was run over by a car. Crew people would be scurrying back and forth and in front of him, no one would address him or even look at him - kind of like this was all routine. This poor grip was trying to sweep up the popcorn under his feet and Gilbert just sat staring into space like he didn't even realize she was there.
Then they'd shoot another take and he'd go back to being crazy Gilbert - really surreal ****, lol.
I heard that since then he got married and went into therapy - hopefully he enjoyed his remaining years. RIP GG.
Did all this happen at best buy?
Dude was around forever.![]()

Orrin Hatch, the longest-serving Republican senator in US history, dies at 88

I don't think of it as losing the battle. I think of it as winning, every day, every hour, for decades. Every busy street they don't jump into, every pill bottle they don't empty, every knife in the kitchen they don't take to their wrists, is a fight that they won. This is so sad. I loved the Judds back in the day.
Naomi was very public about her mental health issues, encouraging people to get help. This may be rather rough for people with suicidal ideation to see someone who had all the resources, took advantage of those resources, and still lost the battle with depression.

Good point. And I hate the phrase "losing the battle" so no idea why I used it.I don't think of it as losing the battle. I think of it as winning, every day, every hour, for decades. Every busy street they don't jump into, every pill bottle they don't empty, every knife in the kitchen they don't take to their wrists, is a fight that they won.
Tremors is an all-time classic. Good fun schlock-fest of a movie franchise, but it works. And Fred was a huge part of why it works.Fred Ward passed away. Aged 79.
Remo Williams is an awesome 80s flick.
