What's new

the real terroist the: TSA

In the last 2 days I walked down through SLC and LAX security. No pad downs, no full body scanners. The SLC had the millimeter wave scanners there (terminal 1) but didn't use them and we had to walk through the plain ole metal detectors. Too bad i forgot to tie the plastic explosive to my nuts (to the NSA agent reading this - it was a joke. I repeat, it was a joke). May be I am incredibly lucky, or may be the whole thing has been overblown. Or may be they are just playing extra sensitive.

or maybe you just dont look that dangerous. cna you grow a beard. do you have one :P.

the problem is i look like a arab. and i always have a 4-8 day old beard:D a bit more than a stubble. so i am always randomly picked.

to bad the lottery numbers dont pick randomly the way airport security does i would ahve been a billionaire by now

The policy is obviously ridiculous. Aside from the invasion of privacy stuff, I would guess that the exposure to radiation will cause more premature deaths than any potential terrorist nonsense thwarted by these measures.

The TSA staff is in more danger than anyone else. And how about communicable disease spreading from the gloves, bare feet, etc? More people are going to die from those things than terrorist airplane attacks.

It hasn't proliferated fully yet. Everybody will be going into scanners by the end of 2011.

I'm not sure if you're joking, but that wouldn't be a bad start. I was actually in Toronto that weekend, and drove by the fence one night. Unbelievable.

Definitely was being a little facetious, while making the point that I'm not sure your Canadian *** is going to be able to avoid fascism any better than us Americans. In fact, I think Utah is a damn near perfect place to be if you have to be in America when this happens. The people that live in that really big cities that can be blocked off rather easily(New York, Boston, San Fransisco, etc.) are playing with fire. According to Mussolini's definition, "The merger of corporate and state" we are already plenty fascist.

G-20 must of been quite a sight in person. I've definitely watched my fair of videos from all the gatherings across the planet. Real leaders don't need to hide behind throngs of security and they don't use provocateurs as a pretext to attack protesting opposition.

I'm sure they felt stupid doing it. That doesn't mean some jihadist hasn't thought about using his two year old son as a walking bomb.

But what are the odds of catching said jihadist by randomly selecting passengers for additional screening?

Not with the current puppet government in Canada, no.

And I feel pretty safe in my backwater habitat. I doubt they'll feel a need to squash Vermonters and French Canadians.

Keep in mind, Duck, Canada's incarceration rate is something like 1/6 of the United States still, even WITH mandatory minimums being pushed for non-violent crimes by the current Canadian government. The two countries are worlds apart, the despicable display in Toronto this past summer notwithstanding.

Definitely. Not to mention that the two military forces that potentially could be in the streets are also incomparable.
