The season of great potential - Just another season of disappointment

My biggest issue with Favors is that we went with him over Millsap. That was a very dumb decision in hindsight. Millsap is a fighter who can do everything. Favors is an overhyped big who won't ever be as good. And most importantly, Millsap would compliment Gobert perfectly.

And were you advocating this at the time....doubt it. Guessing we would stumble upon someone like Gobert was inconceivable. Choosing an undersized PF over a 22 year old over a 6'10" athletic phenom just didn't make sense at the time.

I thought Favors played hard last night and I've been down on him many times over the years. Both Hayward and Rudy seemed frustrated the whole game. Poor Raul tried so hard but just couldn't hang, not that anyone really could. Mack was working hard. Ingles was great. Trey had his shot going on.

We came back on them and took the lead which was good then Lowry went nuts, 15-20 FG. He's the reason we lost. As many have said they are a great team and we were in the game until almost the end.

Why did Hood take a seat and never get back in the game?

I always wanted to keep Millsap. He was a great Jazz man that we always took for granted. We would have made the playoffs the last two years if you replace Favors with Millsap. I even proposed a trade this summer around the draft that was Favors for Millsap and pieces. It got laughed at.

Favors just doesn't have the intangibles to be great. He lacks the drive, durability and savvy to take us anywhere

And one thing I noticed was with about 1:45 left in the game and us down by I think around 6 pts. The crowd was in the game and Hayward slowly took the ball up court like he was trying to kill the clock then passed to Mack who passed up a open three pt. attempt after making one just the possession before. Then he passed to Lyles who also passed up a shot and we got nothing after burning a bunch of time. There was no fire. At all. I thought they ended on a pathetic note. Maybe a timeout would have helped.

I think he has the drive, spends all summer in the gym. His basketball IQ is lower than Millsap's no doubt.

And Hayward wasnt worth the 16 million a year contract in your opinion, so..... yeah.

At Derrick current age Millsap averaged like 12 ppg. Favors is having a rough year because of injuries and you say "Favors is a massive ***** and always has been". Good lord my man, go eat a dick.

Favors must have been a massive bitch ***** when he averaged 16/8/1.5/1.5/1 last year as one of the top 2-way big in the NBA at age 24.

Lopo the kind of poster to peak his head out when Hayward has one bad moment to say "See, I told you we shouldnt have maxed him two years ago!" and now I guess he feels comfortable enough to say "See, I told you Favors sucked". He is like the last guy in a fight to throw a punch after the person is already down.

**** you Cy. I'm entitled an opinion just like you. You talk all day and don't know ****. You're all about perceived value, obscure stats and still don't know ****.

You win with guys who are committed to winning. Favors is a pansy. Hayward lacks a killer instinct. You're probably fine paying him $30+ this summer and Favors $25+ the next summer. And that will tank out potential.

You don't know ****

Chill, I'm not saying you arent entitled to your opinion, I'm just saying it blows.

Where is Millsap's killer instinct when he chokes against the Cavs in the playoffs every year? Or the Pacers?

I'm the kind of poster who has children and a life. I don't base my value on being some douche bag poster at a team site. I've been a Jazz fan since the early 90's. I've seen Jazz men with heart. Right now, I don't see it.

I like Hayward but he's not a #1. I'm okay with Favors, but not at max and not over Millsap. Those are my opinions. Don't give a **** of you agree.

And I think Favors is probably the odd man out of the group if him and his agent want too much $$$. I don't have the nerve to disrespect the dude after all the work he has put in for the franchise. Some posters are pitiful with how they act towards players who have given a lot to this team. Favors could have signed for way more $$$ than he did on his 2nd contract but he wanted to stay here. He went from a raw prospect to a guy who put up 16-8 w/ a slow-paced team that didnt space the floor well.

Millsap is older but still better. I know I speak for a large portion of the fan base when I say that we are tired of half *** effort and disappointing results. Millsap would help us compete for and in the playoffs. He could mentor Lyles. He compliments Gobert better than Favors.

Millsap the next 3 years makes us more dangerous than Favors for the next 6. Screw potential. We are ready for results.

Favors was already better than Milsap last season and that is comparing a 24 year old to a 31 year old, at the same age it is not even an argument. Favors will be better again when healthy and will continue to get better for the next few years. I wish we had got something for Millsap as well but Favors was a better option to start and Millsap was not coming off the bench. Maybe we could have moved Favors to Center earlier but he is a PF and much better at that spot. Kanter could have come off the bench with those two but then Millsap maybe would never have learned to shoot the 3 like he did in Atlanta. I have 0 issue with Favors being chosen over Millsap. Also we did use the cap room with Millsap leaving for some decent stuff like getting Rodney Hood.
