What's new

The sweet and nutritious Clutchfans tear. An assortment of quotes from the enemy.

It's not that I wouldn't take harden, but what are you going to have to give up to get him? He has some serious downside, including soul sucking and not trying at all on defense.
Different question.

Whoever started this said: "Beverley is the only Houston player I would want on this team."

You are dumb if you wouldn't take Harden btw.

I'd take Harden in a second. The only reason this game was remotely close was thanks to Harden. Last year the Rockets had no business being as good as they were. Harden on the Jazz would make us instant contenders, and that's even if we subtract Hayward and Hood.

Sweet and nutritious lol

Isn't he the one that tried to punk Hayward on the free throw? I wouldn't want that type of unsportsmanlike crap on this team. BTW not cool with booker and the clapping on Terry's three attempt. I would rally like to see the nba give Beverly a 10k fine for his crap

Oy vey.

I really liked Beverley. After that ish last night, I'm not so sure. Classless.

Beverley has slways been like that. Should have been a tech. If Hayward weren't such a mellow dude, this would be a big story because he'd have hit him in the face. Glad he's mellow though. Hayward's temperament is starting to remind me of Quin Snyder's. Not a bad thing at all.

Agreed.

I wouldn't give up what he is thought to be worth by most people though

Not to mention the question of what to do with him once obtained. He'd cost some really good pieces, most likely, leaving us 2-3 years back in the rebuilding process. Then we'd pretty much be the Rockets. We'd have Harden, probably one other good player, and very little means to add to that.

I wish Beverly had tried that stuff with Booker instead of Hayward.

It's a damn shame that Utah isn't a free agency destination. With the young talent they've picked and developed, they should be a good draw for a star to come in and make them an instant contender. If any of the Lakers, Knicks, Heat or Bulls had the combination of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood, Burks and Exum, plus a MAX contract slot and a bevy of assets to go build a top notch bench with. . . they'd be in the conversation for Durant this summer. The Jazz and the Blazers are the only two teams I can think of that are strongly positioned for the future and can add KD at the 4 year max without making huge moves to get there.

It's too bad neither team would be looked at though. LMA couldn't wait to get away from Lillard and I don't think KD is necessarily a good fit next to him and McCollum. . . and Utah is Utah. Durant in Utah instantly changes the dynamic of the team into contender status. Hayward, Hood and Favors would thrive given the attention KD would get from defenses. Imagine if the Jazz started getting calls? Hayward would beast as a true #2 option.

I'd take Beverly on my team in a heartbeat.

If Shelvin Mack had done the same thing to James Harden last night and he missed an FT, 90% of this board would be singing his praises.

Hayward needed to do one of two things:

Say nothing and hit the damn free throw.
Get right back in Beverly's face

I remember one time Kenyon Martin fouled Karl Malone really hard (not the time he submarined him in NJ). Malone didn't say a word, nailed two free throws and then on the way back up court whispered something in Martin's ear - K-Mart wouldn't even look him in the eyes.

If opposing teams think they can get into Gordon's head then he better get used to stuff like that.

Team mate should have stepped in and separated them and got him out of Gordon's face. Remember Horny stepping between Malone and Pippen when he said "the mailman doesn't deliver on Sunday"? No one last night had the presence of mind to do this.

that team is a dumpster fire. Lawson sucks.

True story: I have decently close seats for Suns games (I know, I know, but I can't fly to Salt Lake City twice a week and I only go when I want to see the visiting team, my Jazz fandom has never been in jeopardy; I have a Utah Jazz Tiffany lamp sitting on my office desk right now) and the Rockets were in town last week. Lawson had a particularly bad game. Just abysmal.

I'm positive my friend I went with made this happen.

Second quarter Lawson flew down the lane and actually looked pretty zippy. Gets fouled, things are looking pretty good for him to start this game, and he tells Archie Goodwin "you can't stop my driving." Friend yells out "While Intoxicated!" Lawson immediately starts staring into the crowd looking for him and appears honestly kind of disturbed. Never does anything remotely impactful the rest of the game and keeps looking into the crowd on ball stoppages.

Aces heckling.

Maybe it's the ill-fitting uniform but Lawson's body language/posture leads me to believe he's woefully out of shape.

Well I guess that shows he has some remorse for his actions.

Beverly is on the Stephen Jackson all-star team... You hate the guy if he is on the other team, but if he is on your team he is a competitor that will do anything to get an advantage. If he was ours we'd love that ****.
