What's new

The sweet and nutritious Clutchfans tear. An assortment of quotes from the enemy.

Beverley has slways been like that. Should have been a tech. If Hayward weren't such a mellow dude, this would be a big story because he'd have hit him in the face. Glad he's mellow though. Hayward's temperament is starting to remind me of Quin Snyder's. Not a bad thing at all.
I don't understand your comparison. Everybody knows that Snyder is not-so-secretly a psycho drug crazed axe murderer. That's why we love him. I could never imagine Hayward killing someone with an axe. He's probably the sort of good Samaritan who would pull it out of their head, or who would help a little old lady cross the street.

We won, so this isn't for sour grapes as much as it is to provide proof of massive ref conspiracy against Utah, but unless I'm reading this wrong (which I might be), every single incorrect call/non-call in the last 2 minutes last night went against Utah:

Yup... went 6-0. The league needs to change the rule on the one Harden Hayward phantom foul. There is contact... ever so slight, but Haywards arms were not "reaching in" they were extended out and Harden makes every attempt to make sure he moves his arms that way. I just hate that ****. If you are trying to shoot and he reaches in and hits you that's one thing, but Hayward has to put his hands somewhere right.

Snyder would have given him the laser death stare, which would have melted Bev... Quin doesn't need an ax

True story: I have decently close seats for Suns games (I know, I know, but I can't fly to Salt Lake City twice a week and I only go when I want to see the visiting team, my Jazz fandom has never been in jeopardy; I have a Utah Jazz Tiffany lamp sitting on my office desk right now) and the Rockets were in town last week. Lawson had a particularly bad game. Just abysmal.

I'm positive my friend I went with made this happen.

Second quarter Lawson flew down the lane and actually looked pretty zippy. Gets fouled, things are looking pretty good for him to start this game, and he tells Archie Goodwin "you can't stop my driving." Friend yells out "While Intoxicated!" Lawson immediately starts staring into the crowd looking for him and appears honestly kind of disturbed. Never does anything remotely impactful the rest of the game and keeps looking into the crowd on ball stoppages.

Aces heckling.

That is great... I remember yelling at Devean George back in the day... something about him being old (it was really tame and witty) he turned back, looked me in the eye, and said c'mon man. Everyone (other than Gail) was dying with laughter. The NBA is so fun up close.

It's a damn shame that Utah isn't a free agency destination. With the young talent they've picked and developed, they should be a good draw for a star to come in and make them an instant contender. If any of the Lakers, Knicks, Heat or Bulls had the combination of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood, Burks and Exum, plus a MAX contract slot and a bevy of assets to go build a top notch bench with. . . they'd be in the conversation for Durant this summer. The Jazz and the Blazers are the only two teams I can think of that are strongly positioned for the future and can add KD at the 4 year max without making huge moves to get there.

It's too bad neither team would be looked at though. LMA couldn't wait to get away from Lillard and I don't think KD is necessarily a good fit next to him and McCollum. . . and Utah is Utah. Durant in Utah instantly changes the dynamic of the team into contender status. Hayward, Hood and Favors would thrive given the attention KD would get from defenses. Imagine if the Jazz started getting calls? Hayward would beast as a true #2 option.

Hayward has been given star treatment on the calls this season. It's been a nice change to see.

Two friends and I got so deep into Tom Tolbert's head one day that he could hardly run down the court without tripping. It was awesome! It's way easier to have an impact on a role player than a star. The top guys are used to that sort of treatment and they know how to shut distractions out.

My Dad always makes me nervous because he has a drinking problem and has a tendency to say things that he thinks are observations but in reality are totally racist. When the Jazz fan got stabbed at that Lakers game a while back I was sure it was him. I am 100% sure an NBA player will punch him at some point... He told me Kevin Willis really wanted to years back.

Kosta Koufos one time really looked like he wanted to hit me because I was teasing him for always jumping up and down like he was going to get into the game (he wasn't).

I've always felt bad about it because it was a cross between looking like a kicked puppy and I was the personification of all his playing time woes. It wasn't personal Kosta! I just wanted Fesenko to take all your minutes!

We may have made a good decision to heckle a white guy, but that was really by accident. It all started with a joke because he looked like a rad surfer dude. When he reacted to that we realized we could get into his head and he was history.

Those comments that aren't heavy handed or expletive laced are the ones that cut the deepest... that's a great one, but you heckled the wrong team. You may have been responsible for stunting his growth.

Hayward can, and should, get even more calls with how physically other teams defend him. I'm not sure if he'll ever get the true measure of calls he deserves unless the Jazz somehow find a legitimate way to add a superstar. The whole team needs a higher profile to get that kind of treatment.

I hope you can all know I can never approve such disgrace! Never can I agree to make fun of other guy. I hope you can find peace. Thank you.

There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Good people, Lakers fans and Rockets fans.

Rockets fans deserve to be mocked and laughed at.

Lakers fans deserve deportation at 35,000 over the Pacific. Except my 98 year old Gma. But nothing will slow her down anyways.

You may be an adequate lawyer, but you'd make a terrible judge.

I still maintain that Fesenko would have been a quality NBA player given the right opportunity.

That every team that ever worked with him disagreed is troubling.

Didn't someone heckle Otheus Jeffers for tucking in his warm up jacket into his pants, and got the stare down? That was rad.
