Well we all know the secret to the youth's success is how Foye/Watson/Marv have showed them the right way to play. And who can argue against their stellar play the past 6 games?
at Milwaukee 0-15 0%, 0 points, 3 assists, 5 turnovers, 4 steals, 52 minutes Loss
vs. Charlotte 4-14 29%, 10 points, 8 assists, 4 turnovers, 2 steals, 52 minutes Win
vs. Atlanta 8-22 36%, 19 points, 6 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 steal, 58 minutes, Loss (Foye did manage to score 11 points)
vs. Boston 8-21 38%, 23 points, 5 assists, 4 turnovers, 0 steals, 63 minutes, Loss (Marv somehow had 15 points...must have been his birthday or something)
at the Clippers 1-14 7%, 2 points, 11 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 steal, 60 minutes, Loss (Watson did get 8 assists, which bought him a job as a starer...yay)
vs. Golden State 7-17 41%, 26 points, 7 assists, 3 turnovers, 4 steals, 72 minutes Win (Both Foye and Marv got double digits with 15 and 11 respectively...Watson did not start this game but got more minutes than Tinsley)
Total they've combined for 28-103 shooting 27%, and per game averages of 13.3 points (a whopping 4.4 points per player on average per game), 6.7 assists, 4 turnovers, 2 steals, in 60 minutes a game.
I have no idea what their PER is but I imagine Hollinger would have trouble calculating a number that low. The shooting percentage is beyond dreadful. Only once did they crack 40%. And I'll even throw out Watson since nobody expects him to score (though asking him to get more than 4 points in six games doesn't seem like asking a ton), but for Foye/Marv in 12 opportunities (combined) they could only hit double digits 4 times.
How Ty keeps starting these guys is unreal. The Jazz are 2-6 in this stretch. It can't even be about winning, unless Ty is totally clueless (though maybe that is the case).
