The Trout Man Commeth...

So how's the campaign coming, anyway? It's getting close.

We'll see. My opponent has a crap-ton more money than I do and has pretty much gone around and put three or four signs up around every single one of mine. That is, the ones of mine that haven't been stolen over the past few weeks. I bought 50 double-sided regular signs, almost half of them have been stolen. When my FIL ran two years ago, he had 200 signs and didn't have more than five come up missing. Coincidence? I think not. My opponent isn't the one doing it, but I wouldn't put it past some of his supporters, i.e. his family members.

As is usual with politics (and I never really believed it until I got into it), he with the most money, wins. Platform/Beliefs/Past be damned. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel, but I am getting deflated with all of the BS that is going on.

Fight fire with fire. Steal his. Or have someone you know do it. **** it.

And get more of your own made.

Only six days to go. Time to make the final push and grab all the momentum going in. Maybe take out a full one page ad for Sunday's local paper, reminding people to vote and vote for you...that is unless they want the same ol' ****.

I noticed some of your signs went missing too. Well, one....but I'm glad the one at the Midvalley Animal Clinic is still there!

Ya, that one cost me an arm and a leg -- it better stay there. I took my dog in for a "check up" just so I could schmooze the owner. Ended up costing me $140.00. Glad I went, but damn.

Or maybe he's just a nicer guy and treats others with tact. Sometimes you can be a real tool. Style attracts attention, then substance keeps the support going.

Spoken like someone who has no idea what's really going on. It's alright, because I was in the same boat six months ago.

On the bright side, you ARE right about me being a tool.

Bump.

I am making a final push tomorrow (and Monday if needed) and I'm knocking doors with volunteers and passing out fliers. I have had A LOT of people back out at the last minute and could use some help. I will provide addresses, maps, and materials, along with food and drink for your efforts. You can knock as many as you want for as long as you want, anything would be helpful. Send me a PM or text if you're willing: 801-641-7641.

Thanks in advance!

Dave.

You are running for office and you say "Good" to a marine being seriously injured while protesting? Unbelievable.

Yeah, but that guy wasn't wearing a uniform when that happened. It was the guys who hurt him who were wearing uniforms. Anyone wearing a uniform automatically gets the benefit of the doubt. Snazzy outfits for the win.

Unbelievable? You would prefer that I jump on the bandwagon of idiots who don't have all the facts and want to lynch the guy who puts his life on the line every day so that idiots can protest their idiot ideas freely? Ya, shame on me.

This is why I make my wife wear the Police Chief uniform on theme night -- Major Win.

I guess he'll have the support of the police then.

Ironically, no. At least, the Fraternal Order of Police have pretty much told me to stick it where the sun won't shine. I'm friends with a bunch of the local cops, but overall, they hate my guts.

Is he using his own money for that? The publicly filed campaign finance documents indicate he only raised about $300 more than you. (In related news, I know where SalmonHobo lives now) :)

Also, why did Nelson Laboratories give him 2/3rds of his total funding?

Also, he didn't itemize any of how he paid for his signs so it appears his campaign fund has made a $1k net profit on the campaign.

Totally bizarre.

You've jumped to your conclusion as quickly and ignorantly as anyone else (if not more so) , Dave.

Just saying.

A good point you can't deny here Dave.

A solid point, actually. I suppose my only rebuttal would be that I didn't start it. I only spoke up in defense of the accused. Granted I took the liberty of adding "idiots" which didn't help my case.
