Players under contract for next year:

Deron
Al Jefferson
Memo
Millsap
Raja Bell
Gordon Hayward
Jeremy Evans

Players with Team Options:
CJ Miles

Free Agents:
AK
Fesenko
Ronnie Price
Earl Watson
Elson

My point is that is is pretty likely they we will a significant amount of roster turnover again next year.

I believe it is almost certain that we will pickup CJ's option.

I believe we still have our first round pick and our second round pick. So it is likely that we will have two new faces from that alone.

So the bare bones of the roster next year would be

1.Deron
2.Raja
3.CJ
4.Millsap
5.Jefferson
6.Memo
7.Hayward
8.Evans

9. 1st Round Pick
10. 2nd Round Pick

So we will have at least 3 roster spots available.

I think it is likely that we will offer AK, Earl Watson and one of Fess or Elson a contract.

Depending on who we draft Ronnie Price will probably get an offer too.

So what holes would you try and fill?

I think we really could use a young 2 guard prospect. Possibly a combo guard. Raja is just getting older and older. CJ isn't really a two. I don't see Hayward as a two, but maybe he is capable.

I think KOC signed Memo 2 years so they'd have an expiring trade chip to work with. The Jazz won't have any cap room in the off season so won't be signing anyone big. My bet is that Memo's contract will be used as a cap tool to acquire another impact player sometime next year. I don't know if KOC will be able to pull his magic once more, but that's about the only tool in the shed at this point.

If there is a season next year do we try to bring Tomic over? Believe he will have a lot cheaper buyout 2 years from now though. Unless Hayward really progresses believe we will try to keep AK and Miles at 4 million seems like a keeper.

KOC signing Okur to an extension was a mistake, not a plan for anything.

Expiring contracts are out, trade exceptions are in.

No. The Jazz have their 2011 pick because they had already traded their 2010 pick.

They had the Knicks pick, so they were free to trade the 2010 pick. The 2011 pick does belong to Minnesota with some protection that likely won't apply given the record the Jazz will likely have.

Really? I didn't know that possessing the Knicks' pick freed them to trade their own in consecutive years. Anyway, that's good because the darft is going to suck this year and with the Jazz likely having pick #28, that would really be painful.

I believe the rule states that you must have, on draft night, at least one first round pick every other year. It matters not if it's a pick based on the team's standing or another team's standing. Owning another team's pick really isn't owning another team's pick. It belongs to the team that can use it.

I believe you are right sir and we won't have our 2011 and 2013 1st rounders.

Also, this is thread is premature as a mother****er.

Also, I'm watching Leap Year right now. A very solid cast so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I don't think Tomic will be brought over for a couple more years, when Memo is gone. He will be an old rookie like Scola was, but should be able to contribute right away (hopefully)

Huh? Where did our 2013 1st rounder go?

Was it three or two first rounders we sent for Jefferson? If three, then that's where the 2013 pick is. But if memory serves, it was only the two picks, so that does mean the Jazz own their own pick currently. They currently can't trade their 2012 first round pick since they don't have one as of now for 2011.
