The Walking Dead

You don't like an hour of nothing leading to a cliff hanger?

I did like Morgan killing some dude tho.

The Morgan stuff with Carol was good the rest was so awful. This show abuses its viewers and generally I give them a pass and just roll my eyes, but this is getting to be too much. I dont know if I can endure more cliff hangers that are just trying to make you think they killed someone but they dont. I definitely cannot handle any more show the ending and then back track and fill in the gaps just to show the ending different from what they tried to make you think it is.

This summary pretty much is how I felt:

If one wanted to read the comics does anyone know what the best way to get it would be? Would I have to buy like a collection of comics or is it all together in a single book, or something else?

You can buy digital copies direct from the publisher, Image Comics. Currently they're only $6/trade, which contains about 4-6 issues, but that sale only runs thru tomorrow, apparently. They're up to volume 24, so you could get the whole series for less than $150...

Most local libraries will carry copies of it, too. If you're in SLC, I know that they carry them downtown, altho the best thing to do is reserve them, because if you just walk in, who knows which ones they will have on the shelf?

There are also larger collections that cost more, but are cheaper per issue.

They really have overly abused the "Did we kill someone?" cliffhanger as of late to the point of it being ridiculous.

I to want to quit watching, but it's so hard to quit something you've watched for this long. Negan seems pretty cool, but how long til he becomes as boring as everyone else on the show?

And even though I like the Morgan/Carol storyline of the episode (the rapid depression of Carol was so poorly set-up, I still can't believe it happened as fast as it did), I feel like I only liked it because it was next to the awful Rick story-line of them walking into the most obvious trap imaginable.

I used to watch this show, but decided it's just not worth it anymore, this Screen Junkies does a pretty good job of summing it up:

That Atlantic piece resonated strongly with me.

So I had some "insider" info before this episode which was just partially right. I was told that Negan killed Glen first which upset Abraham, he attacked Negan and got killed as well. Well it made sense to get rid of them both based on the comics... but they twisted it all in the episode in such a way that right now Daryl will be forever blamed for Glens death. I am wondering if Maggie will ever accuse him of that? Anyway.... scene with Carl's hand was very intense and to see Rick broken like that it was great. Not a bad way to start the season!

The snooze fest returns. Now we will get a few episodes of them farming for Negan.

Eventually Morgan and the old lady will meet some other people who will save Rick and company from Negan.

Didn't like it. W what comes after Negan? A Sith Lord? Satan himself? And we are used to the gore after 6 seasons but the brutality went over the line for TV IMO. Just might be done with it personally.

I just hate how they dedicated the entire episode to that. So damn boring. Can we have anything else?

They spent 20 minutes to reveal who Negan killed, then they spend the next 25 minutes for the Negan power trip. So great. Can they not just reveal who did it without the stupid RV trip? I'm consistently amazed by how poor the writing can be.

Yeah, not fun.

Not sure there's anything compelling about this story line so far. Season opener doesn't have me excited for what is going to happen next. I'll keep watching, but maybe this will be my last season with the show.

I think RV trip part was good. Rick was not easy to break, they needed to show that it took Negan extra effort to get him where he wanted.

Well "after" Negan hasn't happened yet. He's still around in the comics I believe. The group after the saviors is called "The Whisperers" and they have a very different philosophy on the world and how people should survive in it.

I just wish that Rick had a "hit" squad type of group. Rick, Daryl, Merle, Abraham, original Michonne, comics Andrea, comics Carl...

I think "after" refers to after his introduction.
