The Walking Dead

An hour and a half of Alexandria getting **** on? Good lord this writing is terrible. Negan seemed cool at first, but his whole act is played out.

I just don't get why they haven't killed him yet. Carl (coral!) should have just turned and shot him in the face right at the beginning. Without Negan they have no leader. Enough of the people in Alexandria have weapons to take it to the remaining saviors there. Done and done. I'm tired of the complete inconsistency in the whole thing. From all of them being bad assess to all of them being total *******.

Carl could have killed all of those in the pharmacy before any of them could draw they were all lined up INCLUDING NEGAN. Yeah this show has jumped the shark.

I don't think so. There were quite outnumbered and as we know half of Alexandrians are not fighters. Who was there to fight? Rick and Carl and maybe if Darryl would figure out what is happening. Michone, Rosita and Spencer where gone. Maggie is in Hilltop, Morgan and Carol in Kigdom. Eugene? Lol:) Father Gabriel? Every savior had a gun or two. It would have been a slaughter even if they had killed Negan.

They could have easily killed Negan and probably the 2-3 others in the house with Carl and Rick.

Problem is that aside from Ricks core group (Michonne, Sasha, Eric, Rosita...) the rest of the Alexandrians are mostly push overs Alexandria loses that fight IMO.

But threw thing is we've already been shown that not all the saviors are devoted to Negan. He rules by fear. Kill him and I'd bet more than a few of them would let things go if not outright turn on the others.

After that initial fight I absolutely agree. But in the moment when the bullets are flying I think they kill the threat to themselves and not take the chance. I even think a bunch of them would die. but in the end they win that fight. The time to kill him IMO was at the gate.

Rosita puts one in his head while the gate is shut. All you can see through the gate is shadow. Walk towards him with the rifle like you are opening up and bam! No more Negan. All the Saviors are outside the wall still. They retreat and maybe Spencer and Rosita die and 3-4 Saviors. Everyone takes a minute to think and some of the Saviors take off and the group splinters and breaks apart. Once they were inside it was to late.

No, killing Negan would be dumb. He has a huge group with a ton of guns. They kill Negan someone else just takes his place and they destroy Alexandria.

It's kind of like saying you kill Osama Bin Laden and terrorist stop being terrorist. Someone would just take his place.

I was thinking the same thing. In fact I said as much to my wife and sons as we were watching, that they should just open the gate, shoot him in the head, then close it again real fast. Then they could have even gone into some of the buildings or lookouts and started shooting other saviors. Make the saviors figure out how to fill the void and maybe it would embolden the other communities to fight back as well when they got word that Negan was dead. I still think Carl should have just shot him.

No it is actually completely different. Taking someone's wife and killing his friends to gain his "loyalty" is absolutely the opposite of religious zealotry.

I think someone would take his place. After fighting among themselves and desertions. The Saviors are then weaker as a threat. You approach Hilltop and The Kingdom and you have an uneasy stalemate.

Sure there is the chance fighting breaks out but your odds of winning are much better.

I get they are trying to show us that Rick is broken, but I think it is being done with a pretty heavy hand. Since Negan seems to have a stronger interest in the Alexandria group they will likely have more chances to kill him than the other groups. If they did then exactly what Stoked pointed out would happen. They might lose a lot of people at Alexandria but they significantly weaken the saviors and then Hilltop and the others can protect themselves. When someone rules by cult of personality, when that leader is taken away the vacuum is awfully hard to fill and still keep the full strength of the group intact. In historical accounts it has lead to the fall of entire empires, such as when Genghis Khan died his sons were not up to the task to keep things together and their empire crumbled.

Also this part of the story is actually pretty true to the comics.

They gave Carol Michonne's storyline, Michonne got Andrea's storyline and there is no Daryl. But Maggie at hilltop, potential love interest between Ezekiel and Carol, Michonne and Rick, Carl being harder on the Saviors than his father and Rick's submissive nature are all directly from the comics. Even Spencer is given a character from the storylines, Guy in Alexandria tries to undermine and sabotage Rick.

In deference to GF I wont say what this leads to.

They should have been ready when they showed up and had a plan. Either wait until they are spread out and everyone shoots them or rocket launcher as many of them as possible when they are getting near the gate then make sure to kill all of them so no one returns to their main camp to tell them what happened. Obviously the Saviors put themselves in a vulnerable position coming into their city.

Rick has seem enough death and would not have just turned weak like this he would have made a plan. They have faced equally bad people a lot already.

Yeah, but the whole thing is that he came early. He said he was going to come in a week from when he killed Glen, but he showed up early (not sure how much earlier), so they have an explanation as to why they werent prepared to do anything.

I just think their approach to dedicating entire storylines their own episodes arent really working. It's making for boring television. I can only take so much of Rick getting **** on for an extended episode (which is another complain on how TWD continuously uses extended timeblocks to just add more filler instead of substance). I guess the positive is that whenever they actually kill Negan it will be rewarding because I wont have to listen to his tired dialogue anymore.

I absolutely agree. Advance storylines for all 4 communities into each episode. (Alexandria, Hilltop, The Kingdom and The Saviors)

More entertaining as you see it all unfold at the same time.

Agree with this and stoked. Negan is actually getting pretty boring. Sucking through his teeth, poking out his tongue. The swagger and all. He has no other faces just jackass and tough guy. Really a waste of such a great actor so far anyway.

And having entire episodes focused on one arc makes it impossible to really connect timelines together between the separate arcs. That's more of a nitpick though, I'm sure (hoping) they will tie them together soon. If the whole season is just despondent ***** Rick that would be awful.

Well in the comics this version of Rick last a while. I hope they speed it up as that is a huge downer on the show.

, such as when Genghis Khan died his sons were not up to the task to keep things together and their empire crumbled.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it Kublai Khan ( grandson of Genghis Khan ) under whom Mongol Empire was at it's strongest, largest and most powerful?
