What's new

The Walking Dead

I don't like action for the sake of action. I want things set up intelligently between moments of action that make sense within the story.

That's how they've been running the show the last few seasons, and I like it.

So they follow up a decent season premiere with an incredibly boring episode. Good ole' Walking Dead. Took 45 minutes to reintroduce the villains in episode 1.

I had this very issue with "Homeland" so I tried something novel: I stopped watching it and never felt the need to go into a thread for the program and tell the fans how boring the show had become.

I also liked how they brought back several different plot lines.

Father Gabriel
DC Trip
Beth's kidnappers
Terminus survivors

Not to mention the abscence of Morgan.

Personally I hope that Bob survives and they don't take the comics route wirh Dale (even though that would could be a great scene). If I had to choose I'd wack Sasha, Tara, Carl and Eugene. I find all 4 of their characters to be boring.

That's where they're going. The dialogue was almost word-for-word. I think...
Bob was bitten when the walker pulled him under the water in the store and he was quietly leaving the group to go off and die when The Hunters caught him. Tainted meat!

The "spoiler" was my first thought in the church when he asked her for another kiss then left. He had been bitten and was going off to die.

I seriously hope that Morgan comes into this in a terminator-esque role helping to free them from the terminus group or something like that.

This is what I was thinking as well but it isn't confirmed. No limping, blood or any signs that I could see so it could be played off but I doubt it.

I also hope Morgan comes in and just wastes the Terminus group.

boob lost almost his whole leg. he would slow down the group

hershel lost only about halfway to his shin

Not sure if I liked how easily they dispatched the Terminus group. It was almost deus ex machina-esque in the way it was all so cleanly resolved. I figured they felt that part had to be taken care of to cleanly move forward in the plot they were trying to tell anyway, and it did result in one hell of a brutal blood-bath with changing attitudes among the group an obvious precursor to further tension. All in all a pretty good episode. Interested to see how they tell this going forward with the group split up again.

It would have been better if the guy Tyrese beat had made them shoot him. More in line with his character. Tyrese looked very conflicted watching Sasha hack that person to death.

The way that Daryl responded to Michonne's question of "Where's Carrol?" was very interesting to me. He just looks at her for a second then turns and say "come on out". Very peculiar adn has me more interested than normal for next week.

Should be the story of how they rescue Beth. Possible introduction of new characters and the death of another?

In the comics it is Dale (there is no Bob) that gets captured by a cannibalistic group (there is no terminus) and he had been biten and screamed "tainted meat" hysterically.

They are dispatched when Rick approaches them in their camp at night and talks to the group. Andrea (the groups sniper in the comics) Michonne and Abraham are hiding just out of sight in the woods. Rick points at one or two of them and Andrea blows of their fingers. Then the three that are hidden come out and the butcher them.

So it was always a side story that is used to just shock the reader/view at its finality and brutality. It was a nice way to further the plot though.

I am excited to see the Walking Dead spin off.

I have made up my mind. I wanted it to be a bit harder and maybe involve more than one casualty. Maybe 1 1/2 episodes or 2. Not just a 15 minute stretch of screen time to slaughter them all so easily.
