What's new

there's a dude with a bomb strapped to his chest in downtown slc

You believe that the automobile bailouts were bad? Why?

Why not just let them file Chapter 11 (reorganization bankruptcy) like every other business? From what I understand, a huge portion of the money given to the car companies went to support the unions rather than actually bail out the companies themselves. And as it stands, the US is set to lose 23 billion on the bailout. How was this in any way a success?? And have you read up on what GM is doing now? 7 out of every 10 cars built by GM are built outside the U.S. GM is also outsourcing more and more of it's manufacturing, specifically to China. Why are the tax payers bailing out a company that is sending more and more of it's work to China? With the rants you go on about sending money to other countries I'd think this would bother you.

Sorry team. I had just finished going to the butchers, and my backpack didn't have any room for the frankfurters. Didn't know strapping them across my chest would have caused such a commotion. No worries, i am alive and well.

Good, the guy died.

Now we won't have to waste tax dollars on his medical exam to determine his sanity, lawyers, judges, juries, appeals, etc....

You threaten us with a bomb, bye bye to your life. Quick, simple, cheap.

I only wish the same would have happened to the Joker in Colorado and most of the nutjobs who pull crap like this who seek attention (Tim McVeigh).

The case that really pisses me off is Brian David Mitchell. The way he mocked our system (at taxpayer expense) was just disgusting.

You're right. We should definitely just round up and exterminate the mentally ill.

Brian David Mitchell is mentally ill?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_David_Mitchell#Mitchell_2010_federal_court_trial

Mitchell was found competent to stand trial on March 1, 2010,[25] with Kimball's describing Mitchell as an "effectively misleading psychopath" who has manipulated people into thinking him incompetent.

and

Robert Steele, Mitchell's defense attorney, filed a motion on May 17, 2011, seeking to have Mitchell placed in a mental health facility and not in prison after sentencing.[52] The motion failed and Mitchell was transported to Federal Prison on August 30, 2011. On May 25, 2011 Mitchell was sentenced to life in prison without parole for his crimes

How can one serve a life sentence in a federal prison if one is declared mentally ill? Remember now, lets rely on facts and not just your opinion.

grenade for sure.
i eat grenades for breakfast. just before drinking coffee i pull the pin of a grenade.
this tradition of eating grenades started a while back.
funny story actually.
i was reading some lame joke about how cool chuck Norris was. so i send him an e-mail challenging him to a eating contest.
so yeah long story shojrt he replied and we had this eating contest.
he suggested some pepper eating. so he ate it then i hate it nothing to it.
when it was my turn i suggested we both eat a nuke like the hulk. he was all scared and **** talking about how hard is is to get a nuke let alone swallow it.
so ultimately he used the excuse that getting our hands on 1 nuke is near impossible let alone 2.
so we settled on grenades, we both pulled the pin and swallowed the grenade 3 seconds later all his inside where out, and i burped.
anyhow him lying on the ground crying his wig or topee of, I decided to save his live.
used his wig as thread. and used one of my pube hairs as a needle, put his insides back in and used the makeshift thread an needles to sew him up

the very next day I received the nobel price for war"
and every day since than i eat a grenade for breakfast every god dammed morning well except for the shabbat. cus than i can't light fire and such

TRUE STORY YO.

Am I the only one who thought to myself, "Wow, I think DutchBag has been on this site as long as I have, and finally... a good post."?

Also update: he died

Can't say that I'm too heart broken about it.

Agreed, to some extent, about this tool. However, I'm glad that Mr. Joker is alive and well, and will get to enjoy a life of *** rape and facials.

If McCain did nothing different than Obama other than this he would have been a better president.

Sometimes I feel really stupid, and I agree with Scat'Riely. (this is one of those times that I feel stupid)

You're right. We should definitely just round up and exterminate the mentally ill.

Don't do that! You realize there would be like 4 people posting on this site if you do this, and all 4 of them would be me.

Bailing out auto companies isn't what "socialist" governments do. It's smart government. A no-brainer. It's a huge base, it employees thousands upon thousands of Americans, and keeps the military (Amurika!!! USA USA USA!) strong. You let the auto industry fall, you significantly hurt your economy and military.

Actually it's what fascist governments do.
The very definition of fascism pertains to a government being controlled by it's corporations.
You are obviously not a proponent of a free market economy, and prefer fascist ideals.

You also forget, it's not the governments fault that GM and Chrysler made bad investments and fell into obscurity.
What significantly hurts your economy is bailing out those companies that continue to make ****ty vehicles.
The way the free market works, those companies file for bankruptcy and try to save themselves.
Do you actually think Ford, GM, and Chrysler are the only possible candidates for successful vehicle makers in this country ever?

Oh heavens! I'm absolutely not a proponent of the free market! I don't believe many people even on this board are truly proponents of a true free market. I would estimate that 99.9 % of all Americans would hate the free market if we truly had one. Yikes!

Most folks advocating a "free market" are either completely ignorant of what that would entail and/or demand government intervention in another aspect of life.

Repubs demand less government and free market while at the same time demand oil and ag subsidies, student vouchers, and nanny states defining marriage and sex edu.

Utah is a perfect example of this. While on one hand they "bash" and "hate" the federal government they on the other hand are always demanding more federal handouts.

Ever seen how much fed money we take in to build our roads? Ever heard of Hill Air Force Base? Utah Congressmen have hired lobbyists to keep that place open! LOL! The very same congressmen who hate on the federal government and campaign on smaller less expensive government! HAHA!

Mia Love is the latest to fall for this. Her campaign is predicated on less government intervention. Meanwhile, she is demanding federal dollars to help rebuild her city.

You cannot have it both ways. Again, if she were truly for less government in our lives, she'd demand her own citizens take responsibility and rebuild via insurance, investment, their own hard work. Why demand the government to steal from another city or state to rebuild Saratoga Springs?

Did you just skim that article?

It says he was found incompetent by several mental health professionals. The one who found him competent to stand trial, Dr. Michael Welner, is quoted as saying: "Brian David Mitchell is someone who had severe personality disorders, narcissistic and anti-social....there is no questioning that he was bright and thought that he might have a better future...and as someone who had psychopathic qualities ...he stumbled into the structure of the LDS and that was good for him and it was healthy for him, it gave him an opportunity to rise and gave him an opportunity to have structure. But we are who we are, and he reached the place where he could only go so far and the way he was could not be boxed in that LDS place. The natural graduation, for him,...who had his pedophilic demons, was through that fundamentalist LDS schism track...and he went along a path that could accommodate him. Somewhere along that line, where he could express himself in a grand way....that path....intersected with his pedophilia, which was part of his life at some points and not part of his life at others. And it's when that path intersected with his pedophilia that [has] brought us to the point where we all meet here today."

So that sounds pretty unhealthy.

As for this guy the other night in Salt Lake, he has quite a record with law enforcement over the past decade and was committed to mental health facilities three times because of voices he heard in his head. There are systemic issues with our prisons and treatment for the mentally ill.

Ok, that was a lot of **** to skim over while at work.

As for free markets, yes.... most Americans would bitch about a truely free market because they all want to have their cake and eat it too.
I myself, want nothing from the federal government other than strong defense and sound money, in which they provide neither.

If you're going to start talking Republican and Democrat, then you might as well start listing the differences between white and purple onions.

I was in the basement of a building downtown right next to where this was happening. Basically had no idea about it until I left at 2:00 am and saw bomb squads/cops everywhere. I had no idea I was that close to being blown up!
