What's new

There's a game on tonight.

Favors should just switch nationalities and ball for France with Gobert.

Derrick Le'Favors.

Would be nasty.

Scored 105 despite shooting very poorly from deep. Got to the FT line on the road.

Regular season needs to get here already so I can know if I can actually be excited or not.

I'm pretty damn excited (probably the most since Deron's rookie year), but I do have that slight worry in the back in my head that this is a mirage, only because it's happening all in pre-season.

Still, it's hard not to see at least some, if not much, of this translating over to the regular season.

I feel like every team we have played outside of the Clippers (that 1 game we lost) haven't really tried or have been severely injured (Lakers missing most of starting lineup, no Durant), so that is why I remain cautious with my optimism.

I'm fully optimistic. I think the changes on defense are going to translate. The offense will sputter from time to time, but Quin will make sure they continue to run the right sets and get back on D. Lots of this will translate, dudes.

It may sound corny, but if anything - this preseason will give our guys confidence that hopefully translates to how they play/compete in the regular season. Our guys looked defeated before they stepped on the court with Corbin. Perhaps if this is all a mirage and they lose their confidence quickly, then we'll be in for a long season with growing pains.

I have a feeling we're more for real than anyone could have expected as recent as a month ago. I think we'll win between 30-35 with a chance of being even better.

Our schedule is pretty damn brutal to start off though, so that momentum from preseason we have can quickly fade.

Our starting lineup is looking like a starting lineup comprised of all lottery picks, like it should.
Corbin should have tried/thought of that

Don't we face plenty of those teams on the back end of back-to-backs? If we can get some wins against those teams, in that scenario, then it could parlay this momentum into full-blown confidence.

Not sure, I just know our first 6 games are against teams that will probably make the playoffs.

The way I look at it is like this-
If the jazz played this same stretch of seven games in the regular season do I expect they would go 5-2? No. But I think 3-4 is fairly reasonable, which is still something to get excited about.

Needs consistent 3s (at least the corner) and mid range game to be a 20+ scorer though. Like DeRozan.
Though derozan sucks at 3's and mid range shots.

His percentages were horrible last year (his all star year)

I don't know. I don't think the rest of the league will be prepared for what they'll face first month of the season. Aside from completely new system on both ends, even the returning players look transformed with all improved games from last year.

Corbin should have tried/thought of that

Can we just forget Corbin existed?

Other than him supposedly lobbying to get Burke, that **** is looking pretty good, thanks Corbin.

I thought Portland was trying in one of the games we beat them in. (Seems like I remember thier starters all getting about 30 in one game)

Do you ever get tired of this?
I hope you don't. It's a long season. There will be many Corbin references as the season goes on..... not just from me.

I hope you will be able to put your big boy pants on and handle it.

(By the way.... Corbin has only been gone less than a year. It's not like its ten years down the line)

Nah they all got about 24. I think we kill the Lakers every time though based on how we played them. Lin and Nash aren't going to make a 20+ point difference.
