What's new

These Jazz Practices Are Making Me Excited.

Realistically no one has a single ****ing clue what to expect. And in some ways that's really exciting and in some ways that's scary as ****.

The focus on "pace" is awesome. But, when I look at Trey and Enes, I see two guys who will struggle to make an impact within that concept. Booker and Exum better get ready.

I wonder if we'll see much of Alec and Gordon at the 1 and 2? "Pace" plays right into their strengths.

What makes you think it would be a problem for Enes? I think he gets down the floor pretty well and is well conditioned.

I agree. Kanter seemed to get up an down better than any other true bug in the team last year.

Kanter gonna ball this season. Let's be real.

This year's gonna be fun to watch for sure. Seems like Lindsey has given Quin the 'green light' to just experiment with guys and see what our young guys have to offer. Kanter being allowed to put up 3's is a testament to this.

I truly think we'll see some crazy things we've never imagined would be thrown on the floor with the Jazz!!!

Go Jazz!!!!

Following on from that - we could see:

- Kanter shooting 3's, commentator calling it 'Kanter is MONEY!!!!!'

- Favors making 'Kevin Love' crazy passes

- Burks rim rattling dunking highlight reel

- Burke to Evans alleyoop dunking highlight reel

- Exum passing exhibition/clinic that is so infectious the whole team is copying & doing it also

- Hayward turning into Pete Maravich lite on fast breaks

- Gobert 30 min. game, averaging 3 blocks per game !!!

End of practice scrimmage today.

- Quin seems to really get Kanter, he's making him play free but alert and thinking out there on the floor

- Burke seems to have taken Quin's advice on board as well, playing fast pushing the ball, good defense with the steal from Exum

- Hood as good as advertised knocking down that corner 3

- Good level of intensity by the looks of it.

@Lockedonsports: 4 minute scrimmage to close practice. Exum, Alec, Gordon, Favors, Rudy v. Trey, Hood, Jones, Booker and Kanter. Who u got?

@Tjonessltrib: Enes kanter and trey Burke both looked really good in scrimmage portion of jazz practice today

@Tjonessltrib: Emphasis on enes. He looked shockingly comfortable in his new role as a face up power forward

@Lockedonsports: Trey, Hood, Jones, Booker and Kanter take the 4 minute scrimmage

@Tjonessltrib: Loved how trey consistently pushed the ball in transition. Looked much better defensively as well. He looked really good

Kanter is about to blow up.

somewhere Cy is still crying over Burks. remember he said he wasnt even an NBA player. would make no impact.

My guess is the offense will be looking to hit Enes for trailing 3's much like Memo got. I noticed in the leaked vines Kanter wasn't just practicing the corner 3...
Either way it solves the spacing problem and ball stopping, which is why the Jazz were better with Marvin on the floor.
Of course the counter argument is Kanter will be getting far less offensive rebounds, which he is exceptional at.
