I wondered last night about ex-Jazzmen who are in this league and what kind of team it would be:

Deron Williams DALLAS
Enes Kanter OK CITY
Marvin Williams CHAR
Devin Harris DALLAS
Wes Matthews DALLAS
Randy Foye OK CITY
Paul Millsap ATL
Kyle Korver ATL
Al Jefferson CHAR
Richard Jefferson CLE
Kosta Koufos SAC
Mo Williams CLE

that's a pretty good roster I think. Your thoughts, comments, suggestions. Whom am I leaving out/forget?

Add up those players salaries.
Would we be under the luxury tax?

Also, I don't think that we make it past the 2 round of the playoffs even if our roster consisted of everyone of those okayed

was not referring to salaries or playoffs or anything other than just the players in the NBA who once played in SLC and what kind of team it makes up.
i think it is a decent squad of guys we used to have who now play elsewhere and still do pretty well by and large

Don't forget Ian Clark and Brandon Rush of Golden State

Don't forget the JYD - Demarre Carroll

You could field a playoff team with those players: Starting 5: DWill, Matthews, DC, Millsap, Jefferson -- Korver, Mo Williams, Kanter off the bench for scoring, Kosta for interior defense. Plus you still have solid vets like Marvin and Devin Harris, and 3-pt shooters like Rush and Ian Clark. If I were the coach, I think I could make the playoffs with that roster. The greatest weakness probably is interior defense, as Kosta is the only real rim protector. Add Rudy to that team and you have something, as you have two great perimeter defenders in DC and Matthews.

oh yeah i forgot him i knew i would leave someone good out-sorry about that !!!!

Carroll was terrific and still is and he can play for me anytime!!!!!!!!

Don't forget about Ronnie Price, Jeremy Evans and Carlos Best Buy Boozer playing city league ball and Fes playing in parts unknown, Bryce Cotton, Jack Cooley and Little Sap. .

Yet we hard all those players once and they ****ing sucked all the same.

'cept for Millsap Korver and Matthews.

The rest were hot dog ****.

The bad news is the net return for all of those players are Derrick Favors and Tibor Pleiss (I'm sure I'm missing a second round pick somewhere).

The good news is I'd pick Favors over every player on that list.

Well, I think you also have to include the GS trade since NOT getting back anything for Jefferson, Miilsap, DMC and Foye freed up the cap space to take on RJ, Rush and Biedrins and get the additional picks. So add Rodney Hood to what we got in return.

Plus the whole idea was to move up in the draft, which Utah did, and obtained Dante instead of being in the 12-18 range.

Mavericks reserve forward (and former Jazz-man) Jeremy Evans underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, the team announced. He averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 30 games this season.

Sorry Jeremy.
