This is the MAN we need at #3 - C Jonas Valanciunas

It is difficult to fully evaluate since he wasn't in the combine and we have to takes some measurements at the players word BUT, I think Jonas Valanciunas has the most potential for growth, both physically and as a player, among the bigs that are mentioned this high in the draft.

This kid is still maturing and growing. He reportedly has a 7'6" wingspan and could top out over 7' in height. He appears to be more gifted physically than Kanter. Valanciunas is a legit Center versus Kanter that wants to be a PF.

I think DWill 2 just doesn't have the physical tools to be a special player at the next level. Game wise, I think DWill is likely to be anther Michael Beasley type player BUT DWill appears to be much better in attitude and work ethic etc.

I hope the top of the draft goes like this:

1 Cleveland - Kyrie Irving
2 Minnesota - Enes Kanter
3 Utah - Jonas Valanciunas
4 Cleveland - Derrick Williams

He didn't say athletically gifted. He said physically gifted. If these measurements are correct it's pretty clear that he has a physical gift. How often do you stumble upon a guy who measures up to this? I guess I'd better take a closer look at JV.

Yeah, it'll be my what 26th look? But word is he plays with a lot of energy - ala Noah. I love Noah. If he weighs more than Noah coming out of college then he's worth a 26th look.

How often? I would guess about three or four times per draft. Who gives a ****. Can the guy ****ing play or not. That matters far more.

DX lists Noah at 7' 223 lbs. with a 7' 1.25" wingspan.

DX currently lists JV at 6' 11" 240 lbs. Right now they don't list his wingspan but I imagine that info will be forthcoming.

It sounded like his club needed money so they were gonna work out a way to get him into the NBA and gobble up a portion of his rookie contract.
I don't care if he comes over next year or not.

Adidas Euro Camp June 11th -13th in Italy, but Jonas Valunciunus will not be there.

If Jazz had the 6th pick, I'd say the Euros are a real option. BUt the 3rd pick for a guy that may not come over....

I think Jonas is the least exciting Euro, but maybe the most likely to have a 13 year nba career.

While he's got a great wingspan and is still growing, his lack of actually basketball IQ and general skills makes him a real r-e-a-c-h at #3, IMO.
Kanter, OTOH, is already quite skilled and is in great condition, which would enable him to play extended minutes very soon if need be...

No kidding. Getting both Kanter and Knight might put the Cavs right back in the thick of the playoffs in a couple of years. If the Jazz got those 2 guys i would be jumping up and down.
