What's new

This season will vindicate Ty Corbin

But Gobert never starts. Even without Kanter, it's Favors and Booker (or Evans) starting. Gobert isn't a vet. And Hood...just forgetaboutit; he's riding the pine.

To be fair to franklin, this season is really a vindication of how bad Kanter was/is on defense. No, I don't think Corbin was a very good coach. But he wasn't as bad as some have painted. Jazz needed to make a change and Snyder is far better for this team than Corbin would have been. But the personnel this season is a LOT different. Just put this season's Hayward and Gobert on last year's team and that gives them five more wins.
This season's Hayward never happens on a Corbin led team though. And I doubt this years Gobert does either.

CORBIN? HA HA HA HA HA!!! If anyone misses the days of Corbin, they should be tied to a railroad track by their man-parts and given a rusty spork in case they hear a train.

Corbin "vindicated" himself in Sacramento. Here's looking forward to a great 2015/16 season.

Could be. I think Hayward was pretty unhappy last season. Of course, the tank played into that, too. The team was designed to fail. This year it's been designed to build upon fundamentals. But yeah, certainly Gordon could have worked harder in the offseason knowing that he was coming back to a completely different scenario and not having to play in Corbin's system. Gobert made a huge leap over the summer and in international play. TY may have held him back a bit this season by playing him less, but eventually Rudy was going to bust through.

My point is not that Corbin was a good coach. He needed to be replaced. But Lindsey has given Snyder more to work with. They signed Booker and Jingles. Hood has contributed. And Utah has scoured the DLeague for incremental gains, bringing in Millsap, Cotton, Johnson, etc. Last year it was just "lose with the players you have." About the only significant change was cutting ties with Tinsley and bringing in Garrett.

Ha ha, thanks for the good laugh. I know you were kidding about that part about "giving Snyder more to work with", right? Right? Rookies, D-leaguers? yeah, teams were fighting over getting Slow-Mo Joe Ingles. LOL.

No, Corbin was every bit as bad as we thought. If you disagree, point to one specific thing that would counter that notion. I have yet to hear anything in defense of Ty other than excuses about why the team was so bad. Can anyone point to anything positive that you can attribute to him? He was asked to do one thing, improve the defense and yet it ranked last. Nuff said.

honestly, talent-wise i would rate last year's team higher than this year's.

trey, alec, favors, hayward, kanter, marvin, gobert, jefferson and 3-4 scrubs who got minutes (8 talented-ish players, and 4 scrubs)
-vs-
trey, favors, hayward, gobert, hood, exum (scrub level production), booker and 6 other scrubs (6-7 talented-ish players and 6-7 scrubs depending if you count exum's contributions this year as scrub level)

I doubt anyone on the national level would agree with you on that. They only look better because they are coached much better. That talent last year was held back by a man who does not have NBA-level HC ability.

********. Corbin may have been run out of town in SLC but he is coaching swimmingly in Sacramento and bringing the Kings back into contention.

I just came across this gem of a quote:

Standing on a corner outside, that's good news for Tom Crase, who has bought and sold tickets since "before John and Karl." Last season was the worst he can remember. And while there were still too many empty seats this season to make much of a profit, Crase said, "It'll be fine. It's going in the right direction."

on this recent article:

Hahahaha. Mr. Crase is just another ill informed Utah Jazz plebeian who doesn't see things for what they are.
