Thoughts on Trading Bogdanvic

Yeah, only if we have someone like Bogey who could step up to provide the much needed firepower, we would’ve won tonight. Oh wait...

You acting like we are the Nets with three elite scorers in KD/Harden/Kyrie who just iso their way to the W cuz no one could stop them. Then yeah, defense? What defense?

But see, we don't have scorers at a level which they can guarantee you production every night, what we have is a bunch of secondary/tertiary scorers, which means some night they will be on, some night hey will be off, like tonight. How do you win ball games when you can't throw into the ocean or the defenders simply lock you down?

Maybe play some defense on the other end to grind out the W?
 
Bogey is a super important part of our team’s offense that would be hard to replace, but his lack of athleticism really hurts the team and having two one-dimensional players (Bogey, Clarkson) in our top 7 rotation doesn’t cut it. They are both great when they are hitting shots, but give you absolutely nothing when they’re off. You can probably afford to have one of player like that in your primary rotation, but two is tough.

On the other hand i saw some great defense on derozan last night and he scored anyway. Sometimes great defenders can do nothing to stop great scorers.

Almost all of my reasoning for trading Bogey would also apply to the idea of trading Clarkson. Having both is a great luxury, but I think this team would be better off picking one or the other and addressing the defensive need.

IMO, Bogey would probably yield more on trade market so I would rather move him. Also, JC is freaking awesome. But if it came down to it I would also do the same type of trade, scorer for defender, if it had to be JC. I’m not married to the idea of trading Bogey, just the idea that we would be a better team with more defense.

That all sounds cute, but it’s empty without any realistic trade scenarios offered up.

I'd trade bogey for Grant straight up right now. And frankly if we sweetened it somehow Detroit might show interest. But other than something like that nothing would make any sense right now.

But the defense is definitely a concern for me and swapping the backups doesn't inspire much confidence. Scoring without Bogey/Clarkson on the roster? Not a concern at all for me. I think you are vastly underrating the rest of this roster if you concerned about scoring.

"sometimes" is very good choice of words here. we can use a guy who could play solid D "sometimes". Instead, we have guys like Bogey, JC and even Jingles who couldn't play D at anytime. so what happen when our best defender Rudy and Royce were having off nights defensively, who's gonna step up?

Hopefully Mitchell, Forrest, and Butler.

You have to develop Forrest and Bulter over these 82 games. There’ll be some hiccups, though.... so dudes like jom will bitch and moan. Make sure to look out for him btw.

I don't know where you've been, but we've talked about different targets several times. Hart, Anderson, Covington many times in this thread. In the summer we also talked about Smart, Young, Nance ect. I've also said ad nauseum that finding a trade partner is difficult, but the general idea of trading a scorer (Bogey/Clarkson) for a defender like those listed makes all the sense in the world to me.
 
Not sure where to stick this, but Kyle Anderson is an expiring contract this year. Considering that this could be Ingles’ last season, I would hope the Jazz are seriously considering running at Anderson with the full MLE.

Hart doesn’t really fit the need. We can’t trade a wing for another guard.

Anderson is overrated as ****. I guarantee the dudes who are pimping him have very little experience actually watching him play, and are dazzled by some of the rises in his stats last year. I wouldn’t trade Bogie for him. And the idea that he’s a stopper is lol.

RoCo is probably declining beyond the level of interest. I’ve suggested him as a target long before you came aboard, but the idea might’ve passed it’s expiration date.

The other names you mentioned probably would’ve happened already if they were going to happen... but why don’t you put the nuts and bolts together and show us what a trade would look like at this point?

I know the hypothetical trade makes sense to you. You say it often. But it’s a deductive sort of logic you’re using.... Put it into some kind of real world scenario, or maybe put it in your signature.... cuz it’s pretty tiring to see you repeat this deduction for months on end.

We'll still be a taxpaying team so we won't have the full MLE, but his value is something to watch for sure. The Grizzlies have a ton of good wings and he's falling out of favor behind Melton and Bane. Brooks isn't back yet either. With a big financial commitment to JJJ and Zaire Williams waiting in the wings I don't think MEM will make a big offer to retain him.
