If you start them and give them a brief rest in the middle of each half instead of having them play all of their minutes in one go each half, they won't get as worn out. It's also a no-brainer that you don't want to have your worst players playing the bulk of their minutes against the other teams' best players.

Maybe we should start the games with our best players, so that our best players play against their best players. And then we rotate in our less talented players off the bench as our best players get tired.
