Tiger kills a man in Delhi zoo. Graphic video.

This thread purports to link to a video showing a man's death graphically. Why the hell would I want to watch something like that on a message board?

This is interesting, if true:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...g-him-for-15-minutes/articleshow/43256551.cms

As soon as the youth fell into the moat, the tiger approached him and silently watched him for nearly 15 minutes," Bittoo, an eyewitness, who recorded the entire incident on his mobile, told media persons. He said what possibly provoked the tiger to attack the man was when onlookers and a guard tried to divert its attention by pelting stones at it.

Surprised they couldn't do something more than throw stones with a 15 minute head start.

There is other longer videos if anybody is interested to see what lead to this. Young man was just sitting there and praying while tiger was just looking at him and occasionally touching him with his paw. ( like a cat interested in a toy). Then when stupid people started throwing stones at him he probably felt threatened and grabbed his "toy" and run away to safety.
At the end of the day this video is no more graphic than one where black kid gets shot. You don't see blood or any other gory details. Sorry Duck if that is offensive for you.

No need to apologize. The content of the thread couldn't have been more clearly stated. He's not even offended. He just wanted to tell everyone what he thinks should and shouldn't be posted on the internet in the name of good taste.

LOL. I am in no way offended by this video, but I do find amusing the double standards on this board's moderators. You get chastised for dirty words and avoiding the filters OR for posting a pic with a little skin, but graphic deaths are OK. Kinda reflects society and the right in general. On another thread someone posted an animated GIF showing a horrible auto accident where an SUV was broadsided by a semi with high probability of the people in it dead on the spot (it almost disintegrated on impact) and it lived. Yet the board is littered with boob pic warnings...

Now this is what i call CRAZY person (as opposing of carrying a toy automatic rifle instead of using a cart)...

:D

seriously though, if a post is reported the mods consider what action to take - - and has been said before, it takes three votes for an action to be taken. Those actions can include leaving it be, editing with warning, editing with infraction, or warning or infraction without editing. Typically a post isn't discussed until it's been reported.

So here are some possible scenarios:
*Post wasn't reported (no action)
*Post WAS reported and is still under consideration
(no action until it's received three votes for one of the options)
*Post WAS reported and one of the alternatives received three votes - action taken depending on votes.

Not sure if that explains anything but I needed to work on my typing skills so I don't end up bashing my head on my keyboard.

By the way, it's just occurred to me that my little signature image is pretty appropriate for all these gruesome video topics. Hmmm....

what a crappy way to die. damn. getting mauled by 500lb cat? how da hell he end up there? that's messed up.

Speaking of Indians eaten by tigers (white or yellow), I have to plug in a book I grew up with. It is as close to "classic" as it gets.

"Man-Eaters of Kumaon" by Jim Corbett. It is terrifying, suspenseful and (not "based on" but "real") true story(ies). So real that the Indians named one of their national parks after Jim Corbett. Coincidentally, the "Jim Corbett National Park" was the scene of the recent tiger attacks in India.

If you have a chance, grab that book from your favorite bookselling place. Totally worth the 12 or so bucks it costs now.

i heard about that book. haven't read it yet. thx for reminding me. i'm a huge big cat fan. this kinda news really pains me. i'm furious that nobody was there to help him.

this year i went to denver zoo twice to see beautiful siberian tigers. and went to san diego safari just 4 weeks ago to see sumatran tigers. such a magnificent animal. just too bad this happened.
