Tighten up the spam controls?

It's being discussed. Not sure what will happen as it's really Jason/Colton's call (and expertise for that matter). I'd be happy to see it go away. God knows I'm no fan of deleting the 5 or so spam threads I've deleted in the past couple days, although it's not a big deal to do so.
Just so everyone is aware, Colton has changed the method by which new users register (we've gone with something other than a capcha) and we're hoping this will cut down on our spam influx from bots.
Bots? Prove it. Those are real people just trying to eek out a living while people of your ilk try to keep them down.
We have run some of the ip addresses against indexes of bots and come up with some hits. Some of them might be real people, but at least a few are bots.
Besides, are you defending spammers? Shame!
FYI there may still be some showing up who registered prior to the additional controls but who haven't posted yet.
