So TikTok is banned in the U.S..

Is this justified?

Is there a solution?

Is there an alternative?

Do foreign nations have free speech rights in the U.S.?

Do you think it is really gone or will it be revived?

Well... it's back.

Trump has backed off the demand that it give up Chinese ownership and has offered a compromise of 50% U.S. ownership. I don't think that solves the underlying security problem at all.

I have never once used Tiktok. I have had coworkers shove it in my face because of how hilarious they think something is and it has always been dumb AF.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it came back. The Chinese know how easily Trump can be bribed. And Trump won’t miss out on the opportunity to pretend that he saved “free speech” for the idiots on Tik tok. And the GOP will clap like trained seals when Orange god king overrules their own ban. In fact, Fox News and the right wing propaganda apparatus will claim that it was the Democrats who wanted the ban.

Edit: apparently Trump has already overrun their ban. This presidency is so predictable. And our media will be complicit in the complete and utter flip flopping here. Btw, what happened to local control and small gov folks? Shouldn’t they be mad over the imperial president overruling what the legislative branch passed and what the Supreme Court recently upheld?
