What's new

TMac thinks kids should have to stay 2 years in college

1- Student athletes should have to stay in college for 3 years.

2-The NBA should run a short 3 week summer league where incoming freshman, freshman and sophomores compete and get paid a small amount of money.

While this won't end corruption at the college level I think it would reduce it somewhat. And over time the product will improve significantly.

What will help with corruption is finding a way for the NCAA/NBA to hold AAU coaches, shoe company representatives, runners, etc.. accountable. There is a way to do that, but I'm too lazy to type it all out.

I think the blatant corruption (cash to players) is mostly non-existent nowadays, tbh. It's the peripheral issues like giving mom a job at the university (a la UNC and Tyler H's mom) or hiring the kid's HS or AAU coach.. that stuff doesn't bother me a ton, it's just a little sickening that a coach would accept a new job based on steering a kid to a particular school...

Or giving Shabazz's "pro tennis player" sister an endorsement deal...

Yep.. now follow this bouncing ball;

Bazz wanted to play for UK/Calipari. He even told Cal he was committing to UK.
BUT, dad worked out a deal with Adidas (getting his daughter an endorsement deal and himself hired on as a 'consultant.'
So, how could dad allow 'Bazz to choose a Nike school? He couldn't... so he PERSUADED 'Bazz to go to UCLA.

There's no way we'll know, but I am 100% certain that had 'Bazz played for UK this year he'd be going #1 in the draft. (I could outline all the reasons why, if not so lazy)
