What's new

To the AK haters

So if you just curious why then making such accusations? To answer, no I will not stop posting.

In that case, when it becomes clear he is staying in Russia, as he undoubtedly will, will you stop posting about AK?

I am just trying to figure out if I need to get you on my ignore list sooner rather than later.

IMHO, he screwed up by not taking Chris Paul
The same Chris Paul that is hell-bent on destroying the franchise that did everything they could for him so he could ride the coat-tails of two OTHER overrated players to play for the most overrated franchise on earth?

Yeah, The Jazz blew that one.

Is AKMVP really the return of Sloanfail just with a new fixation? Hmmm.

This.

Both Paul and Williams turned out to be cut from the same cloth. They're both narcissists and want recognition in major markets. "Coach Killer" at least gave us some pretty good seasons and didn't voice his displeasure publicly. Unfortunately, neither Sloan nor O'Connor saw his of level of dissatisfaction and frustration as particularly alarming. Again, because Deron did not place himself on the marlet by demanding a trade, KOC was able to get quite a bit for him; he didn't have to desperately sell Williams for BO.

Agree with the rest of what you're saying, but blaming Chris Paul for destroying the Hornets? The biggest problem for NO appears to be one of mass-apathy. Mr. Hagiography can't even get over 12,000 locals into the arena consistently. To say he destroyed that franchise is to give him too much credit.

Is he an arguable team-wrecker, rather than leader? Well, now the Deron comparison starts to work, doesn't it?

That team's problems are location, location, location. If anything, Chris Paul's Market concerns are shrewd, and understandable after playing for a team that no one cares about.

And the coda for all this is simply the players reacting to the NBA's manipulations in LA and Boston. Or, rather, for those franchises back in 07/08.

LeBron-as-scapegoat is typical of media analysis of Big Business, and the recursive nature of it: always blaming effect while pretending there is no cause.

Everything from the New Orleans financial pit (numbers which match up nearly perfectly with the NBA's recent document-drops/press conference filler on aggregate losses) -- that the NBA now owns -- to the superteam trend being pursued by players, is actually the result of Stern's corruption.

If there was a mistake in not drafting Paul over Williams it wasn't skillset value or loyalty, but rather simple ability to lead: Deron appears to have none.

But one of the reasons Utah appeared to want the trade at all was simply an implicit acknowledgement of Deron's standard: they were not going to retain or build a roster that was contending.

So I agree that the Deron hatred -- coming from many of the people that supported him even after the Sloan coup -- is unwarranted in this context.

And there's the real epitaph-as-coda: Kirilenko is less-hated than Deron, was in some ways more valued by Jazz brass, and outlasted Sloan, Deron and Boozer. In other words, this thread is the type of world upside-down drivel that any committed Marxist, Russian or AK "fan" could be proud of.

This guy is hilarious.

I do not know how it would have been but I do have a feeling that if Jazz had Paul and not Williams, we would have better chances of beating Lakers in those 3 years. I do believe as well that Paul would have loved playing in Utah with crazy fan support - it is quite different compared to NO, especially during playoffs. At the end of the day I think Paul is better PG then Williams, so drafting him would be no brainer right? But Jazz always draft "to fit" the system.... and thats why we fail all the time as system can't beat talent. Maybe now when Sloan is gone things will change, need to wait and see.

If he's able to rebound over Odom, Gasol and Bynum I may agree with you.

That's why? Who did we pass up who would've gotten us to the next level? Last time I checked, Paul, like Williams, has no rings.

Says the guy with a pic of the chick from the mediocre TRON: Legacy.

Quite the insult, coming from a guy who has managed 6,000 posts in just over a year.

Irony's a bitch.

But if you want an in-depth discussion on mise en scene, tableau, slanted angles, design-as-statement, pre and post-Gibson cyberpunk or modern expressionism, well, be sure to learn something about them before you say anything more.

6,000? Christ, it's almost Biblical. Or even Talmudic.

This doesn't change the fact that TRON: Legacy was mediocre or that you're a pretentious doucher. Are we really gonna split hairs here dude?
