Rumor has it LA is looking at him and speculations of offering compensation would be necessary. I'd imagine we could beat their offer. I'd be willing to go as high as the GSW pick and taking back Boozer (and sloanfeld).

LAC only gave up a 1st rounder for doc right? So it's not like the pick has to be that great... kind of just thinking out loud here...

Couldn't CHI just amnesty Boozer though?

I think it'll take more than the GSW pick this year to get it done. We might have to include that '16 GSW pick.

They could amnesty Boozer, but he'll be picked up for pennies on the dollar and CHI will be left with a hefty check.

I honestly think you're onto something. And I'd sign off.

The Clippers gave up an unprotected 2015 pick which would likely end up being late in the 1st round. If the Jazz make a play for Tom Thibodeau, they should make the same offer, but a year later. Unprotected 2016 pick. Bulls do it because they hope the Jazz still suck two years from now and they get a great asset. Jazz do it because they expect their young core + 2014 lottery pick to be playoff bound two years from now. I'd keep my picks for this season and next, and I'd offer the 2016 pick instead of either 2017 picks. Too far out to know what they'll be worth. Golden State could be awful by then with their aging roster with injury question marks.

Why would Chicago do this? Why would Thibs want to do this? I dont understand where all this thinking is coming from.

As long as the Bulls have both Noah and Rose, Both Thibs and the Bulls probably will want to stay together.

I dont see Thibs going anywhere.

I didn't mean to like the post above mine.

They just have Rose's salary and the team isn't going anywhere unless they can't shed both Rose's and Boozer's salary.

insufficient evidence lacks logic not convincing glass half empty

Having Rose and Noah is a very good thing still. Books arent that cooked. Rebuild is around the corner. Real truth. Glass half full

Don't think you can involve players in a trade when a coach is involved... Plus doesn't Thibbs have to agree to going to the team.... If so it doesn't matter how much we offer if Thibbs wants LA...

But he could only go to LA with Chicago's permission.

Yah, all this is assuming that Thib wants to be with the Jazz and CHI wants rid of him....

The front office and him are butting heads. They let his favorite assistant go and traded Deng away.

there is speculation that thibs and the bulls are reaching the end of their tether. apparently his drive-your-players-to-an-early-retirement approach to playing time isn't rubbing well with bulls' brass. i heard it on a podcast, but i've listened to so many lately i can't remember if it was simmons, lowe, harper or locke that said it. great sourcing, me.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Thibb's is a fantastic head coach with great defensive skills.

I'd also consider subtracting the gsw pick, but adding Kanter.

The Bulls would have to be stupid to lose Thibodeau. Even after the GM traded Deng and the Rose injury and everyone screamed TANK the team still makes the playoffs. The guy is a top-5 coach. Maybe even top-3.

Can't say I agree with this thread. I would not give up an asset to get a coach. I shouldn't say that, I'd give up JLIII, but beyond that type of asset, no. No way in He!1 do I give up an unprotected 1st round pick in 3 years, or even the 23rd pick in this years draft. There are other options, other guys can coach, just ask Terry Stotts and Budenholzer etc.. It's DL's job to know who these guys are. Give it time before you mortgage the next 5 years picks and Burks and Burke(insert your favorite player) + all your lunch money for Thibs.

On a side note, who won the fantasy league this year?
