I just wanted to give a shout out to Tony Jones.

He only reported facts throughout this entire lengthy process.

He was the only national media source reporting that we were interested in RJ Barrett when everyone else was saying we weren’t.

He was the only national media source reporting that we had other offers we liked meanwhile Ian Begley was reporting the Cavaliers we’re out of the running for Donovan Mitchell.

Thank you Tony for sharing information with us and for sticking to your guns when everyone else was reporting the opposite.

Agree on TJ, but in fairness to Begley he was probly right. Reading Cleveland broke off talks but came back to the Jazz on Monday.

This was maybe the most intense information war in NBA history. The Knicks were leaking **** like crazy, but so were the Jazz. It's impressive that it appears Tony was either given or properly sussed out the most accurate information of anyone so far without doing so simply in hindsight.

Yep its clear his Jazz sources are high up! probably getting his information from Zanik. I've monitored this whole offseason and almost all of the national media got the Rudy and Don trades wrong!! and some were just frauds like Monty. I also like Andy Larsen he's willing to admit when he doesn't know something and he gives others props on their reporting.

The Jazz were clearly putting out information through Tony.

Tony knew the details of the final offer we gave the Knicks that Woj just reported. He obviously has good sources.

Yeah, it's hard to stay steady when others are losing their heads. He did for the most part, especially considering he's personally a Knicks fan.

Tony Jones has always been one of the top reporters on the Jazz beat. I never doubt that he's hearing what he's reporting from people with knowledge. Now, sometimes I feel like he's being used by his sources to paint a narrative of some sort, but I never actually doubt that he's hearing what he's reporting.

Biggest issue is that everyone viewed **** as black and white instead of grey.
Exactly... Pundits led everybody left for weeks but the FO was going right. These inside scoops were nothing more than pandering and distraction. The truth is nobody knew what was really going on outside the FO. Cleveland was barely a blip on the radar but somehow people are correct about pushing New York for weeks.

I kinda feel bad for Tony. I assumed DM would go to the Knicks and I was going to be happy for him.
