Tony Jones: Hill and Gobert didn’t always see eye-to-eye

I like Rubio, but I'd rather have a healthy George Hill. Considering the fact that he has so much trouble staying healthy, and we were going to pay him all-star money, I think it could be a blessing in disguise that he turned us down.

Hard to say one way or another, until we see how the next few years play out for both players. I do think he would have re-signed if Haywood was committed though, so I'm just gonna blame everything on that guy.

Gotta disagree with you Cappy, what I've seen of Rubio so far I really like. He'd be magnificent if the team had another all star caliber scorer on it.

Hill was a good stop-gap option while we assessed the long-term potential of Dante Exum

I really think DL thought he was going to be able to extend Hill but after Hill got off to that blazing start it became impossible. Players probably got jealous seeing all the contracts signed by absolute scrubs over the past two years and wanted a piece of the pie.

I have no doubt that Rod Hood was one intended recipient of Gobert's post-game message. Rudy was aiming at more than Hill... if, in fact, he was aiming at Hill. Yall seem to be making some serious conclusions from one passing line of this article.

to me it seems abundantly clear that Shelvin Mack was the target of Rudy's vitriol. Also i don't know how but Exum's injury is also Shelvin Mack's fault, along with Betrayward leaving And probably the Bali volcano about to explode is also Mack's fault.

*shrug, Hill was best matched with Hayward. Rubio appears to have some chemistry with Gobert, so the fit have now is best for our best player.

I hope Hill heals and has a good year.

This. We are building the team around Gobert. Rubio is a really great piece to put next to Gobert.

Yep. I think Rubio would thrive if he had Rudy in the P&R and shooters at the 2,3 and 4. Right now, the Jazz have no spacing at the 4 with Favors and a reluctant shooter in Ingles at the 3.

Joe Jesus will be playing some 4. Guarantee it. Gobert/JJ/Ingles/Mitchell or Hood/Rubio. Ingles might be reluctant but you cannot leave him open on the perimeter. Especially in that corner. Joe Jesus makes enough outside shots that you have to guard him as well. If Hood and Mitchell, and maybe even Burks start to make the 3 at a respectable clip there you go. The league is currently in love with "small ball" and Joe Jesus is more than adequate in that type of game.

Coincidently Burks best 3 ball % is on catch and shoot 3s.
