So a couple interesting things mentioned in the podcast.

1-Mannix says Ainge can deny wanting in as a part of the Jazz organization all he wants but he does want in. Sounds like it's pretty much him being interested in being a part of the Jazz, no one has said much about the Jazz wanting him.
2-Shane Battier has been mentioned as possible front office move Tony says
3-Tony mentions Dwyane Wade has major sway and a voice in decision making within the organization, more so than a normal minority stake owner usually does.

Did Battier and Snyder play together at Duke?
I'm not sure, Tony also mentioned that if you get a new FO, usually they'll want their own coach, who will then usually want his own staff. I would guess Quin would be safe but who knows I guess. Tony also mentioned that it's really possible Ryan Smith pays the bill this year and they for the most part run it back with a couple changes, but if they don't get to a finals or win a championship it's going to be sweeping changes next offseason.

Usually the GM want to keep the current coach... so they can use them as the scape goat in the future if things don't work out. So even if we brought a GM in the coach stays the same... you fail in a year or two and then they get their guy. It extends the GMs employment runway.

Ainge was pretty good initially for Boston, right? If he can flip a few of our players for some draft picks that turn into guys like Tatum, Rozier, and Brown, that’ll be awesome. It’s what happened after he collected an insane amount of talent that doomed him. So if we could use Ainge for a few years and can him before he destroys the franchise, that would be great. Right?

Wade being a close friend of the owner is a unique wrinkle. I doubt any former player turned minority owner has that kind of relationship with the majority owner.
This. While I don't think Wade is stepping in making decisions visibly, he's going to be texting Ryan and saying "hey, yeah, this doesn't make sense," and who's Ryan going to trust... the GM the Millers hired or the HOFer who's been there?

He did a masterful job with the rebuild until it came time to turn some of those assets into a star player. His hesitancy with that is the ultimate reason he is out.

Dont other GM's despise Ainge as well? That would be my main concern. That we'd be taking someone to overtake DL who people dont even want to deal with.

I'm sure Ainge is smart and has connections, but I wouldn't without a doubt say he's a better option than DL.

Ainge would not be a smart hire from what I feel. Wade will have an understanding of how he's viewed as well. I'd much rather see Battier as part of our FO than Ainge. Wade apparently has a lot of influence in decisions according to Tony.

Battier is apparently Director of Basketball Analytics and Development for the Heat.

Battier majored in religion. Interesting.

I like Wade having a voice but not too much of one. Many if not most players seem to be terrible at knowing what constitutes constructing a winning roster. Look no further than Lebron. Yes, he did win titles but overpaying how the Cavs did for guys like Tristan Thompson was ludicrous at the time.

I don't mind this. Right now, at least. The core of our team is there and this is our window. I don't think we need to blow things up, but we need to do a much better job on the role players and DL has proven he's too rigid for this and not really looking at it. Wade can push (and recognize the need) for shakeup around the margins. Basically he can point out all the dumb stuff we're doing. I'd hope.

I mean Wade put together a heat dynasty... I'm cool with him having some say. I'd welcome Battier in some capacity as well.

This is exactly the issue with Ainge he has majored in burning bridges. You only deal with that person as a last resort at this point if you are another GM. Seems crazy to want that guy.
